A Court of Silver Flames (A Court of Thorns and Roses, 5)

I cannot accurately describe how excited I was to finally be able to read this. It did not disappoint. Nesta’s journey is probably one of the hardest to read (and one of the strongest character arcs in the series so far) - her internal battle for her own self-worth is heartbreaking and inspiring all at once. I laughed, I cried a bit (the ending GOT ME), but most of all I loved being back in the world with some of my favourite characters. I cannot wait to see what happens next...

De todos os livros da série, esse definitivamente é o melhor. Não tenho palavras pra descrever o impacto que foi ler esse livro, do primeiro ao último capítulo.

Apesar de a histórica focar em uma das personagens menos queridas do universo criado na série, Sarah não decepciona e nos presenteia com um excelente enredo abordando a jornada de superação, redenção, perdão e renascimento de Nesta Archeron. Cansados do comportamento destrutivo, bebedeiras e altos gastos de Nesta, Rhys e Feyre dão a ela um ultimato: treinar com Cassian e trabalhar na biblioteca com Clotho diariamente ou ser devolvida à terra dos humanos. Sem realmente uma opção viável, ela se curva à vontade deles e se muda para a Casa dos Ventos, mas se recusa terminantemente a treinar. Quando Cassian oferece a ela uma alternativa e uma barganha, ela embarca no treinamento e finalmente inicia o longo caminho para fortalecer seu corpo, espírito e mente. Nesta faz amizades inesperadas, inaugura um movimento para ajudar outras mulheres que sempre se sentiram fracas e reféns de seus destinos como ela, e, ainda, cede à atração que sempre sentiu pelo guerreiro, enfrentando seus traumas, culpas e repúdios por si mesma para encontrar um verdadeiro propósito. A história ainda traz novidades sobre a relação de Feyre e Rhysand, bem como aborda as sombras de uma nova ameaça que deve ser aprofundada nos próximos livros. Mais uma vez, a autora demonstra que sabe construir e desenvolver um personagem como ninguém, ao criar um enredo envolvente com um fim emocionante e uma linda mensagem sobre enfrentar seus demônios, vencê-los e perdoar a si próprio por todas as falhas e erros do caminho. Uma longa jornada de altos e baixos, aventuras, mistérios e descobertas completamente imperdível aos fãs da série!

I bought this for my daughter and myself.. Admittedly i was nervous reading this because i loved all the other books so much.. but i really disliked nesta most of the time and i didnt want this book to spoil the series. Anyway heres my thoughts.. while i dont mind a few adult steamy scenes i feel it was a bit OTT and after the first few i skipped pages. If i'd wanted to read an erotic or explicit story i would've. Also, somehow it seems as though Nesta becomes the most powerful of the group. So the character who the treated people who cared about her like rubbish through 3 books.. ends up being rewarded with the most power? Over Feyre and Rhysand? I know that the power adjustment levelled out eventually.. but i felt much of her behaviour was excused and even those excuses she gave felt rediculous.. I loved all the other characters and the banter between them.. just Nesta's behaviour and her power completley through me off. The other characters made it worthwile reading. Sorry, but both my daughter and i felt a bit disappointed with this story which sucks as i love all of Sarah's other books.. My daughter is disappointed more so as she is a massive Sarah J Mass fan.

SPOILER ALERT... Nesta is falling off the edge so the Night Court members stage an intervention and give her an ultimatum, live at the House of Wind, train with Cassian two hours each morning then help the priestesses in the library every afternoon or be taken to and left in the human world. She grumbles and gripes but goes to the House of Wind. Eventually her walls begin to break down and Cassian is there to catch her if she falls or falters. Nesta makes friends with Emerie, an Illyrian shop owner, and Gwyn, a priestess in the library. Together they train and more priestesses join them, so Cassian enlists Azriel to help with the training. Nesta confides in Cassian about all the things that are breaking her spirit and making her feel as though she doesn’t deserve to live. She feels guilty about how she treated her father and Feyre, and all the hurt she’s caused by being snippy to Cassian and others. The Night Court members have discussed the Dread Trove, three items of great magical value.With the help of Azriel and Cassian, and an unlucky kelpie, Nesta retrieves the Mask and wakes the dead in the black lake when the kelpie threatens her life. She attends priestess services and listens to Gwyn’s beautiful voice amongst the congregation. While being swept away in the music, Nesta is transported to a chamber under the prison to where the Harp is hidden. She and Cassian go to the prison to retrieve the Harp and accidentally release Lanthys. The Harp and the sword Nesta accidentally magicked help her and Cassian slay Lanthys and escape the prison. The Harp transports them to Feyre’s front yard. Cassian is healed and takes Nesta in a hike to help her heal from her inner struggles. They become more than acquaintances with benefits and vow to be with each other forever. During the ball, Nesta dances with Eris to bring him to their side as a solid ally. She’s an amazing dancer and he’s taken with her and later sends a proposal offer to her through Rhysand.Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn are kidnapped and dropped off at the Blood Rite. Nesta fights off the last of the competition during the Blood Rite while Emerie carries Gwyn to the top of Ramiel to touch the stone as the winners. The two are transported to Feyre’s home and their injuries immediately healed after touching the stone. Meanwhile, Cassian drops down by Nesta but he’s under the human crone queen’s control. She orders him to kill Nesta. Nesta calls to her powers and unmakes the queen so she ages backwards into nothing but ash. Cassian wakes up and is back to himself and flies them to Feyre’s home. They see that Feyre is dying from loss of blood as she’s trying to deliver her baby. Nesta makes a bargain with the Cauldron to give back what she took when she was made Fae if Feyre, the baby and Rhys could live. It works and most of Nesta’s power is taken but a small amount is left for her. Cassian and ...
