A is for Apple (Smart Kids Trace-And-Flip)

This innovative, interactive trace-and-flip book introduces children to the alphabet and first words. Features letter tracks to trace with a finger to learn letter formation, as well as flaps to lift, and bright, bold illustrations.

This unique, innovative trace-and-flip book offers an engaging new way for children to discover letters and first words! Young readers can trace each capital letter by following the tracks with a finger to learn the shape of the letter. A colorful lift-the-flap on every sturdy board page highlights a first word that begins with the featured letter. To reinforce learning, caregivers are encouraged to help children trace each letter as they say its name and make its sound; point to each picture while reading the words; and practice hand-eye coordination as they lift the flap on each page.

Great book for the alphabet! We have many books dealing with the abc’s and this one stands out because of the tracing aspect to it, along with the capital and lower case letters shown. Lots of books only use capital letters so it’s great to be able to have both while teaching your toddler. I also like how each letter has two different images of objects that begin with that letter. I also love that the pages aren’t busy so you immediately just notice the letters. Lastly, the book is a great size to be able to throw in a diaper bag/hand bag without being too tiny. I 100% recommend this book. You will not be disappointed.

This is exactly what I was looking for for my toddler. A simple, engaging ABC book for teaching the alphabet without too many distracting illustrations. The letters are large and are indented so little fingers can trace them while they learn and the letters are the star of the page. There are two association words/illustrations for each letter, with one being hidden under a flap/door--so it's very engaging!

This is a great book for practicing the alphabet. The groves are nice and deep so your little one has no trouble tracing the letters. Each page has two drawings, one on top of and one underneath a peek-a-boo flap. They are lovely, simple images to go along with the letters. My son likes to "read" the book, saying the letter and then each picture. The only problem is some of the pictures are a bit of a stretch. The "nut" is a peanut half out of its shell. The "orange" is definitely a grapefruit, the "jet" is clearly a large commercial airliner, etc. The majority of the pictures are fine, but there are enough confusing ones to slow him down. Still worth the money though.

This a a very popular book since it came out and over the last year or two I have only seen it grow in popularity, where i have been able to see it more accessible by being in more stores. It is one of my favorite books because it has the easy follow along cut outs to drag a finger to learn the shape of the letters and how to write them while also including several relatable pictures per page to keep a child’s interest. This book was so entertaining for my preschooler through the beginning of 1st grade that it became a book that stayed in our car that he could use during drives. He enjoyed using it and going through the alphabet and labeling the pictures to us with the names of the letters. It kept him interested for long periods of time and engaged with others because he wanted to share what he was learning in the book with whoever was with him. It holds up well. After 2 years of use in not the best care practices due to being in the car, it has some wear to the outside binding, but the entire outside and inside are intact where I will be using it starting soon with my son who is almost 2. This really is one of the best letter books I have ever come across.

I teach second grade and have five students who do not know all the letters of the alphabet, and even fewer letter sounds. They also struggle with letter formation. I purchased 5 of these for small group. The uppercase letters are recessed with directional arrows. It makes it easier for the students to trace the letters with their fingers in the right sequence. The book also has pictures to connect with the letter sounds. I use these books to drill correct letter name, sound and formation. The kids are engaged and showing improvement. I love them.
