All the Feels: A Novel
Following Spoiler Alert, Olivia Dade returns with another utterly charming romantic comedy about a devil-may-care actor-who actually cares more than anyone knows-and the no-nonsense woman hired to keep him in line.
"An absolutely witty, swoon worthy behind the scenes romp! Delightful from beginning to end!"--Julie Murphy, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Dumplin'
Alexander Woodroe has it all. Charm. Sex appeal. Wealth. Fame. A starring role as Cupid on TV's biggest show, Gods of the Gates. But the showrunners have wrecked his character, he's dogged by old demons, and his post-show future remains uncertain. When all that reckless emotion explodes into a bar fight, the tabloids and public agree: his star is falling.
Enter Lauren Clegg, the former ER therapist hired to keep him in line. Compared to her previous work, watching over handsome but impulsive Alex shouldn't be especially difficult. But the more time they spend together, the harder it gets to keep her professional remove and her heart intact, especially when she discovers the reasons behind his recklessness…not to mention his Cupid fanfiction habit.
When another scandal lands Alex in major hot water and costs Lauren her job, she'll have to choose between protecting him and offering him what he really wants-her. But he's determined to keep his improbably short, impossibly stubborn, and extremely endearing minder in his life any way he can. And on a road trip up the California coast together, he intends to show her exactly what a falling star will do to catch the woman he loves: anything at all.

I looked forward to this book being published and I wasn't disappointed. I loved it. Would highly recommend to anyone that enjoys a good love story.

The story Lauren is a therapist who has taken a break from her job in the stressful ER in LA. She travels to Spain and the set of a series production led by her less than nice cousin. Soon she is roped into a job babysitting the star, Alex, whose antics have landed him in hot water. His first thoughts of Lauren are that she reminds him of a short, round bird. But as he gets to know Lauren (or Wren as he starts calling her), he falls in love with her good heart, kindness and calm nature, accepting her plus-sized-ness as part of her. Lauren realises quickly that despite Alex’s movie star good looks and quick temper, he is a good person who cares about and supports those around him, his mom, his housekeeper and domestic violence charities. The part that he is playing doesn’t fit with his stance on domestic violence and dominance and this makes things hard for him to accept. My thoughts This is the second book in a series, and I didn’t read the first book but have seen positive reviews of that book. I so enjoyed this story and the realisation that all was not what it seemed at first. Alex has strong morals and beliefs and is hardly a drunken hot-headed star. Although Lauren is calm and collected, this doesn’t mean that she doesn’t make mistakes as well. Also just because she is not as attractive as Alex, doesn’t mean that he is not attracted to her and can feel that she is his soulmate. This is a beautiful storey that was easy to read and enjoy. All the Feels, a heart-warming Hollywood romance, Olivia Dade Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre:Romance. I didn't realise til I started reading that I'd read the earlier book in this series about Marcus and April. My comments then about fanfic ( never read it, still on my todo list, so don't really understand too much about it) still stand. One day I'll get round to it, tbh it sounds such fun! Anyway, Lauren, she's a sweet lady, currently starting a much needed extended holiday, but like so many “nice/good/sweet” people she's not really valued by those around her, except her fantastic best friend who tries so hard to boost Lauren's self esteem. I want to be a Harpy too – I need that Big Harpy Energy. I've been Lauren ;-) where saying no feels selfish and letting others down. I so felt for her. Her family didn't intend to be unkind, its just they and she have fallen into the trap of feeling everyone else' needs come first. And once more its Lauren stepping into the breach after the family pushing “but you're not working Lauren, and Ron needs you...” or words to that effect. So here she is helping out her obnoxious cousin Ron, trying to keep Alex out of trouble. At first Alex appears as obnoxious as Ron, but as Lauren gets to know him she sees that's not the case, that Alex takes care of people, has good friends and isn't the troublemaker the media and Ron make out. I loved Alex, if Marcus was the Well Bred Retriever Alex is the bouncy, Over-Exuberant Labrador Puppy. We have the same issues in the family, my eldest grandson talks a mile a minute, is constantly on the go, always has to be moving or doing something, jumping from one thing to the next, changing tack mid sentence....Alex felt so familiar. Its a fun story, with some serious issues at its heart. Alex feelings about the last episode, once we knew more about him, were so understandable. His past really has affected his present and his behaviour, and Lauren can only do so much. When disaster strikes, that's the bit I always love, the emotions, the despair and Olivia really worked that well. It made for a fun read that I really enjoyed. Not quite a five but very close. Stars: Four, a fun read, good to see characters from past book, and to have some serious issues running through and treated properly. I loved Lauren and Alex, they were perfect for each other.
