This is the first book in another WUNDERBAAR series set in beautiful Shipshewana, Indiana. Chapman perfectly captures the chemistry between spunky Becca Yoder and shy Gideon Fisher as she trains him to take over her job at the largest outdoor market in the Midwest. He loves and longs for his home in Texas; she promotes Shipshewana 24/7 but dreams of leaving it to see the world beyond. Could love somehow blossom and persuade them both to stay? Along the way, their lives and plans are impacted by several interesting elderly Amish neighbors - I absolutely loved the wisdom of Nathan and Elizabeth. I also enjoyed the loving support and camaraderie among the five Yoder sisters, and can't wait to see how the four remaining stories play out in future books! I really enjoy Christmas-themed novels, and when combined with another favorite (Amish novels), it's a perfect match! Overall this is a sweet story with well-developed characters you can't help but like and root for. This is the first book in the series, and I look forward to reading upcoming books (especially Eunice's story). The setting is charming and vividly described so the reader feels a part of the outdoor market. The relationship progresses in a realistic manner. The pace isn't rushed. I enjoyed learning a bit about the Mennonite Disaster Services, as I knew nothing about that. If you're looking for a quick, sweet read to help you feel the Christmas spirit, this is one to add to your list! Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy, but I wasn't required to leave a positive review.

This initial book in an engaging new series makes me want more, and I look forward to upcoming novels in this great setting of a large marketplace in Indiana and the five Yoder sisters. The two main characters in this compelling story both have personal dilemmas to deal with. Becca Yoder wants to serve the needy through Mennonite Disaster Service, mainly so she can travel and see more of the world. Gideon Fisher was sent by his parents to the market to train under Becca to become the assistant manager—then she will be free to leave. But he just wants to stay a farmer in his beloved Texas. Unexpected complications make this a winning tale and interesting to read as they navigate the difficulties that arise. It can make readers think about their own motivations and choices and how to make wise decisions. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
