Boo! Baa, La La La!

BOO! BAA, LA LA LA!

From the beloved and bestselling Sandra Boynton comes a terrific new Halloween board book. A long-lost cousin of her classic Moo, Baa, La La La!, this delightful little story begins:

On Halloween, the cow says BOO.
She likes that word. It's something new.

The littlest book-lovers and their families will enjoy following the gentle cow as she ventures out into the moonlit night, trying to discover who it was that replied to her "BOO" with a "BAA." The surprise ending is certain to delight everyone-young or old, feathered or furry. Told and illustrated with Sandra Boynton's celebrated charm and pizzazz, Boo! Baa, La La La! is a wonderful, not-scary treat, with all the markings of a Halloween classic. BOO!

Got this for my 2 year old granddaughter and she loves it! Great book for a toddler.

All of Sandra’s books are adorable and enjoyable to read out load to my granddaughter. She is 19 months and the books keep her attention throughout. Highly recommend and so reasonably priced.

Toddler prefers "Moo baa la la la" (funnier and more interactive) and "Eeek, Halloween" (tells more of a story), but we've still read this one a few times and will definitely keep it. This one is about a cow that calls out boo on Halloween, and for some reason a sheep keeps answering it with a baaa. (And then the three singing pigs make an appearance at the very end in small print for the la la la.) Best part is that the cow climbs the hills by noon and flickering pumpkin light. 😆

I feel a bit like a Scrooge giving a bad review to a kids book but here we are. My daughter loves the original version of this book so I was excited to get this one. If you are familiar with the first, it's not like it's a literary masterpiece but it's cute and catchy. This one kind of falls short and misses a big opportunity to bring in the singing pigs in a meaningful way which is one of the best parts of the original. It's cute and festive but it definitely could have been better. It starts off strong but kind of falls flat at the end. My daughter still likes to read it so I'm clearly overthinking it and need to get a life.
