The stories are fantastic. The artwork is absolutely amazing. I am recommending this book to everyone with young children. (Adults will enjoy it too). The paper feels heavy. Well Made. I only have one suggestion, it would be nice if some of the stories were available as individual books that a child could easily carry around.

I got mine yesterday! And y'all - PLEASE go get this book. It will heal your own heart and captivate your children. I read 4 stories for bedtime and had two encore requests so we just kept reading. My 5-year-old kept saying "Mama I'm tired but read more! more!" lol The photos are next level, because that's just what these guys do, but the STORIES THEMSELVES are like healed, evolved, Afro-centric versions of the classic tales. Great attention to the details of the messages was clearly taken, to be very affirming where most fairy tales and disturbing/negating, and the creators also avoid sending bizarre messages about marriage, etc. like so many fairytales do. We haven't even started the African stories section yet... I cannot WAIT. It's 7 am and I'm already looking forward to reading time tonight!
