Good book. Very colourful. Is difficult to get your tongue around some of the twisters, which my daughter found hilarious when I read it to her.

I thought Lord of the Rings was a tough read. Until I read Fox in Socks to my daughter. It sent her happily to sleep but I'm the one who will be having nightmares. Tongue twisters that'll make you stumble and chuckle as you try to read this insane book aloud. Brilliant. I'll be buying another copy for my friend to share the pain.

My granddaughter is a bright 3 1/2 year old but this book was beyond her understanding so I put it away for later. I didn't find it as cute and fun as other Dr Seuss books. I would chose something else. I'm a pretty big fan of the more original Dr Seuss books but this one did not live up to that standard.

Obviously, these tiny Dr. Seuss board books are abridged. I knew that going in. I have several of these Dr. Seuss board books, and they are all fine. But this particular book does not lend itself to abridgement at all. What is left of the story makes no sense. That said, my 2-year-old loves it. He throws a fit if you try to read him the full version, because it's too long and he's now accustomed to the board book.

Board book version is EXTREMELY abridged; around 2/3 of the pages have been removed.
