Mile High with a Vampire (An Argeneau Novel, 33)

In the latest Argeneau novel from New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands, an immortal and her mortal pilot are on the run from hungry vampires...and discover they're life mates along the way.

Jet Lassiter likes being a pilot for Argeneau Inc. Perks included travelling to exotic locations and meeting interesting people, even if they are the blood-sucking kind. He's living the good life, until his plane goes down in the mountains and four of his passengers are gravely injured. They need blood to heal... and Jet is the only source.

Quinn Peters never wanted to be immortal. Once a renowned heart surgeon, she was turned against her will and now she has to drink blood to survive. Before she can ask how her "life" can get any worse, she's in a plane crash. One of the few survivors, Quinn is desperate to get the mortal pilot to safety before her fellow immortals succumb to their blood lust and drain Jet dry.

But hungry vampires are the least of their worries-the crash wasn't an accident, and someone is trying to kill Quinn. Will she and Jet find their happily ever after as life mates, or will her assassin find her first?

I have and re read all of Lynsey Sands' other books. They are fabulous. Witty and feel good. But this one is stilted and really odd. The story is not played out - it’s like someone doing a plot description. It’s no fun. Oh dear. Maybe the next one will be better.

Hot, humorous & a disastrous but life changing once again for newly & non accepting Quinn, who was convinced to leave Italy & go back to Toronto for a little counselling. But the plane crash wasn't just a simple accident, but IT IS where mortal co pilot Jet whose had the hots for Quinn from that first sighting of her when he flew her to Italy 4yrs prior. And Quinn's sister Pet has been trying to get her to go to all the Argeneau-Notte s get together, hoping for them to bump into each other as Margarite & Abs KNOW they are Life Mates. But it's during this time & get to saving Jet's life & that of other mortals... But it's when at the enforcers house that she's able to open up, ESPECIALLY after seeing a face from her past..... FANTASTICALLY BRILLIANT

Quinn was a surgeon before she was changed into a vampire, but everything changed when she did. She’s flying to Canada from Italy when the plane goes down, leaving the pilot the sole human survivour with several injured immortals after his blood. It’s up to Quinn to keep him safe, and navigate their way through forest back to civilization. This book features Quinn, sister to Pet (lifemate to Santo Notte) and Jet, childhood friend of Abby (lifemate to Dante Notte). It’s a good idea to have read Pet and Santo’s story first, since this story actually builds on one of the storylines in that book, although it isn’t absolutely necessary. An enjoyable addition to the Argeneau series, we are treated to several cameo appearances from old favourites, as well as meeting a few newer characters. As always, the book is filled with romance, danger, and a little humor to lighten things up. Fans of the series will enjoy this one a lot, as will paranormal romance fans (though I recommend going back to the beginning and starting there!).

While I did enjoy this new release by Lynsay Sands…I was quite disappointed, it wasn’t one of her best. I have been a Lynsay Sands fan for over a decade and have read pretty much all of her Argeneau series and all of her historical romances and loved them. This book was ok, but a disappointment. Would it again? Probably. But I would’ve waited for it to go on sale and not preordered it. I think Lynsay could’ve done better with this one, it had so much potential. The hero was one hot thing…though he was as explored or given as much character as he could’ve had. The heroine was sweet. But I got tired of hearing how messed up she was, from herself, telling Jet that. It didn’t really have as much action as I’m used to in her books either. I also felt that the dream sequences went on way to long.
