Irresistibly action-packed and full of lethal surprises, this stunning new fantasy series from Victoria Aveyard, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Red Queen series, begins where hope is lost and asks: When the heroes have fallen, who will take up the sword?

A strange darkness grows in Allward.

Even Corayne an-Amarat can feel it, tucked away in her small town at the edge of the sea.

She soon discovers the truth: She is the last of an ancient lineage-and the last hope to save the world from destruction. But she won't be alone. Even as darkness falls, she is joined by a band of unlikely companions:

A squire, forced to choose between home and honor. An immortal, avenging a broken promise. An assassin, exiled and bloodthirsty. An ancient sorceress, whose riddles hide an eerie foresight.A forger with a secret past.A bounty hunter with a score to settle.Together they stand against a vicious opponent, invincible and determined to burn all kingdoms to ash, and an army unlike anything the realm has ever witnessed.

"The entire time I was reading REALM BREAKER, I wanted one thing: for the book to never end. It is classic yet groundbreaking, romantic yet edgy, a rollicking adventure that carries you along at a relentless pace. A true fantasy masterpiece."  -- Sabaa Tahir, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the An Ember in the Ashes series.

"Set in a sprawling world of warring empires and hair-raising magic that any reader would want to get lost in, REALM BREAKER is a fantasy fan's dream, injected with Aveyard's trademark action, heart, and razor-sharp characters." -- Roseanne A. Brown, New York Times Bestselling Author of A Song of Wraiths and Ruin

"Realm Breaker is the kind of book you take with you to your favorite reading chair. The world is rich and built with deep care; the characters are complex and flawed; the story is filled with the kind of sweeping scale that fantasy does best. This is a new classic."  -- Marie Lu, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Skyhunter

An enthralling adventure, a richly imagined world, and the most impossible odds combine to make Realm Breaker an addictive, tightly-paced gem of a book. Readers will delight in Aveyard's bewitching new beginning, all at once epic in scope and intimate in detail. It's the adventure I was desperate to go on as a teenager and the kind of story I eagerly devour as an adult. -- Emma Theriault, author of Rebel Rose

"Like Aveyard's hit Red Queen books, this series starter is a hefty tome with well-mapped details of lands, monsters, and people. Rotating narrators keep the story fresh and leave readers wanting more." -- Booklist

Praise for the Red Queen series:     "Aveyard's "little lightning girl" remains a relatable and deeply flawed heroine... Aveyard adeptly sets the scene for a fourth book to follow, amid a war not yet won." -- Publishers Weekly

"Another devastating cliff-hanger ending will leave readers hungry for the final volume." -- Booklist

"Simmering with internal conflict and well-devised courtly scheming." -- Kirkus Reviews

This book dragged on way to long, I struggled to finish it. If I were to read it again best to skip the first 300 ish pages.
the book have too many descriptions, i like big books, but after a while, it got boring. I couldn't get attached to any of the characters. And the villain is so horrible. There are people who love these kind of thing, but i don't. And it has nothing to do with Lord of the Rings, it's much heavier. not for me

Aveyard has done it again. Blown me away. This book has everything. Fantasy. Adventure. Betrayals. Assasins. Pirates. Magic. Quests. Aveyard is a Master of building worlds. She brings so much detail to life and it immerses and captivates you. Strong characters with layers that make you wonder which side they will end up on, or how long they will stay there. Absolutely fantastic book and I cannot wait for the next installment.

Corayne is a pirate’s daughter and wants to go on adventure with her mother. She believes she can do a lot of good for her mother and her mother’s crew, but her mother wants her to stay where she is to be safe. She is found by an immortal and an assassin. Soon later they find themselves with a sorceress, a bounty hunter, and a squire. Corayne is the last of an ancient line and the rag tag team are finding away to save their realm before the Queen and the Prince Consort destroy it. I have read Red Queen, Glass Sword, and a bit of King’s Cage (I really need to finish it) before I read Realm Breaker, so I am familiar with Victoria Aveyard’s work. I loved this book more than the Red Queen series and I feel like this series is going to be epic. This book is described as a High Fantasy compared to her other work. I will admit this book has a slower pace and I typically don’t like slow books, but I still enjoyed it. I love the world building and the history of all the places we see the characters go. I love all the point of views and I’m use to a ton of point of views with all the adult fantasy I’ve been reading. My favorite character is Sorasa and she is totally a bad ass assassin. I love the villain romance between Erida and Taristan and I totally want to see more of them and their evil demise. Lastly, the banter between Sorasa and Dom was just great. Totally pick up this book!

Finished Realm Breaker last night and I have to say I did not love it. It was okay over all, maybe 3.5/5🪡 The positives: The world of RB is Huge! I was very grateful for the beautiful map displayed in the book because it really did help with placing where the characters were at at different points of the story. The countries were described in flawless detail, from the people to the architecture and even the smells! I really appreciated having a clear image of where the story was taking place, and I liked the diversity of the characters. - The negatives: Although the book started with a bang, it slowed down immediately after the action packed first 2 chapters and although it did improve towards the mid point I found it lacking depth, it was highly predictable with only one minor plot twist, and zero romance .
