Someday Soon (Deliverance Company)

Fall in love with the first book in Debbie Macomber's Deliverance Company series featuring a romance between a mercenary and a widow inexplicably drawn together.

Cain McClellan had chosen his lifestyle. He thrived on the challenge, the rush that came with putting his life in incredible danger. No woman, he told himself, could make him feel the way he did after a successful mission-no matter how beautiful she was.

So why was he standing on a cold pier like a lovelorn teenager, hoping for a glimpse of Linette Collins?

But then he saw her, and the sight of her took his breath away. The wind whipped her lustrous dark hair about her face, and she lifted a finger to wrap a thick strand behind her ear.

The smart thing to do was turn around and walk away as fast as his feet would carry him. He'd gotten what he wanted. One last look at her. His curiosity should be satisfied. But even as his mind formulated the thought, Cain knew that just seeing Linette again could never be enough

Really enjoyed this book. It is in the usual strain of Debbie Macomber stories, but she always manages to add twist and turns which you are not expecting. Will look out for the other books in this series and hope they all come up to this high standard.

A great read but make sure you read this one first!! I made a mistake and read them in the wrong order . Problem then was I knew a little bit to much about the characters and what happened to them .

I have read a lot of Macomber's books in the past, and I've loved each and every one of them. What I like about them the most is that her characters are usually fun, charming, and stories are always so heartwarming. Plus there is also little to no sex, or violence involved. They are the kind of stories that make your heart sing. But not this time. This time the story was riddled with sex, and very graphic violence. I even had to keep checking to see if this was actually a Debbie Macomber book. The first few chapters were sort of confusing, too. She starts the story of introducing two characters, and then just when you start to really get into it, she switchs to two new set of characters. It goes on like that through most of the book, and frankly.....it drove me crazy. I'm sorry to say this, but this is a far cry from what I've come to respect and enjoy about this author.
