The Blame Game: A Novel

In the vein of the Reese's Book Club x Hello Sunshine Book Club pick The Other Woman, Sandie Jones's heart-pounding new novel The Blame Game will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Games can be dangerous. But blame can be deadly.

As a psychologist specializing in domestic abuse, Naomi has found it hard to avoid becoming overly invested in her clients' lives. But after helping Jacob make the decision to leave his wife, Naomi worries that she's taken things too far. Then Jacob goes missing, and her files on him vanish. . . .

But as the police start asking questions about Jacob, Naomi's own dark past emerges. And as the truth comes to light, it seems that it's not just her clients who are in danger.

I tried to give this book a chance... I really did. But it was, quite simply, horrible. No character depth. No realistic storyline. Just horrible...

Exciting read but not accurate depiction of maintaining boundaries as a psychologist. Once you put the reasonableness of this aside it is entertaining and a fast read

This novel is a perfect example of what happens when the thriller genre runs slightly amok. This novel went so fast and so furious that there was zero character development, too many twists and turns to keep track of, and a plot that strained credulity to such a degree that I skimmed the last forty pages or so just to get it over with. The writing isn't particularly good, either. Skip this in favor of Sheena Kamal or Clare Mackintosh.

Despite the twists and turns I still knew the big twist at the end but nonetheless it was a pretty good read. Writing was great and the character narratives were impeccably done.

Darn, that was one confusing mess! I couldn’t keep up with everyone and their lies, mistaken identities and even an old murder case. But I’ll tell you this - the very best part is the last page! Hang in there with this one!
