The book wasn't to bad but it isn't as good as most of his stories. Not a lot of suspense as most of his books are.

This book was a hard read because it jumps from the present to the past but the characters were quite interesting and the storyline was good once everything progressed. The ending was full of excitement and then a little twist.

This story had me guessing to the very end. So many characters to choose from for the bad guy. Very exciting. I loved the friendship between the two female characters.

This story is about Emily Atkinson. A rich woman with a very complicated life. She is an alcoholic who collapses on the street. When she wakes in the hospital she is told she has a heart condition and that she is pregnant. She tells the doctors that she isn’t sure who is the father. She is befriended by Betsey Brown, a surgical nurse. Who is also pregnant. Betsey tries to help Emily get sober and live a more healthy lifestyle. When Emily has a break in at her condo, Betsey calls on an old friend from school who is now a NYPD detective. Also Emily feels like someone is watching her. Following her wherever she goes. This story is told in two time periods. The past nine months and the present. When Emily goes missing Betsey is desperate to find her. But the detective has his own ulterior motive to find her. Then there is the fact that two more women in Emily’s social circle have also gone missing. Are the case’s related? Is it the mysterious stalker? Or has Emily fallen off the wagon and run away? There are so many red herrings in this story. I could not figure this one out. I was a little disappointed with the ending. It felt like the story was unfinished. Unless there is going to be another book to pickup where this one ended. I can only hope.

This book was an interesting read and kept me turning pages and guessing, but the ending was disappointing. The final denouement was a big buildup with anticlimactic ending, as if a deadline had to be met. After investing a couple of days with the character(s) at least a prologue would’ve been nice
