The Perfect Assassin: A Doc Savage Thriller

Prof. Brandt Savage-grandson of the legendary action hero-is forced into a top-secret training program where he discovers his true calling...as the perfect assassin.

Dr. Brandt Savage is on sabbatical from the University of Chicago. Instead of doing solo fieldwork in anthropology, the gawky, bespectacled PhD finds himself enrolled in a school where he is the sole pupil. His professor, "Meed," is demanding. She's also his captor.

Savage emerges from their intensive training sessions physically and mentally transformed, but with no idea why he's been chosen, and how he'll use his fearsome abilities. Then his first mission with Meed takes them back to her own training ground, where Savage learns how deeply entwined their two lives have been. To prevent a new class of killers from escaping this harsh place where their ancestors first fought to make a better world, they must pledge anew : Do right to all, and wrong to no one.

Editorial Reviews

"The final confrontation between the two sides produces many high-octane battles that keep the action of THE PERFECT ASSASSIN pumping like one of the high-energy exercise routines that Savage had to complete earlier in the tale."―Bookreporter.com

I usually love anything by James Patterson but some of the coauthored books are not what I usually go for. This one surprised me. I tend to stay away from spy type thrillers, but I was curious about how JP would do it. I was not disappointed. It was well written and had good follow thru. No loose ends and it wasn't beyond believable like you get in some spy novels. It just proves that James Patterson is one of the best.

Fast paced, lots of twists and turns, a little far-fetched at times but enjoyable!

This was an enjoyable read but not Pattersons best. A bit to fictional. I would still recommend it. I have always wondered how much the co-author has written.

Like millions of people around the world I have had the pleasure of reading numerous books by James Patterson (and his many co-authors) and I enjoyed most of them. This is why when I saw this 318-page soft cover book first time in print on Amazon (The perfect assassin: A Doc Savage thriller by James Patterson and Brian Sitts) I immediately decided to purchase it. I do love a good story combined with action-packed characters and short to the point chapters that keep you turning the pages. This is that kind of book. When Professor Brandt Savage, an expert in anthropology, who was just granted a sabbatical, is looking forward to a break from teaching; however, as soon as he hit the street he was literally kidnapped by some beautiful, smart and very athletic woman named “Meed” (not her real name) and his life is about to change dramatically. He has been chosen to receive, with no choice in the matter, forced hard, intense and sometimes brutal non-stop training for many months to prepare him for his new role in a cruel and criminal world involving kidnapped children. He also learns things he never knew about his Great grandfather (Doc Savage). I never give away too much information when reviewing any kind of novel, but if you are seeking a very interesting, entertaining, and super action-packed novel you will love this book. Once I began reading it I could not wait to get to the next chapter. I really loved this book and recommend it to anyone who is a fan of James Patterson’s thrillers. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Season of the warrior: A poetic tribute to warriors).
