Bought this book for kiddo and her dad for Valentine's day and they both loved it! The artwork is beautiful and the book itself is top notch quality! The story did make me cry as its the things my dad reminded me of often when I was a kid. It helps relay what a dad is here for, and its nice to be able to read a story to kiddo that reinforces what her dad tries to share and teach her daily! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I'll be giving this to my son as a new father. This book brought a tear to my eye! It is SO sweet and says everything you feel in your heart toward your child. The author expressed our hopes as parents just perfectly! It is positive, and makes the reader feel that the parent will be there 100% in every way and wants the best for the child. It is one of the most heartfelt things I have ever read; any child who hears this from their parent(s) is one very lucky child.

This book is beautifully written and has great messages but it's not dad-daughter specific. There are exactly two pages that say father/dad on them and the rest are generic. I'm pretty sure the "Why a Daughter Needs a Mom" book is the exact same content with just the names on those two pages changed. The illustrations are somewhat dad-daughter specific (at least two are) and they are very cute. For instance, on a page that talks about learning to help people and animals who are smaller and weaker than you, it's a picture of parent and child rhinos smiling down at a rhino beetle. I wish they could just change the title and those two pages/pictures to be parent-neutral. Then both parents could read the same beautiful book to their daughter.

This book is so very sweet! It’s encouraging, loving & moral teaching - it reads that they can always count on dad for anything. My husband almost cries every time he reads it to our daughter.
