A Duke for Diana: A Witty and Entertaining Historical Regency Romance (Designing Debutantes)
From one of the best-known names in historical romance, New York Times bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries, comes a dazzling new series featuring a talk-of-the-ton trio of young women who've eschewed working as governesses to utilize their talents for fashion, food, and music, by running their own party planning enterprise, Elegant Occasions. And if they, and their wealthy clients, happen to find love along the way, it just makes their efforts all the more rewarding…
Self-made civil engineer Geoffrey Brookhouse has unexpectedly inherited the dukedom of Greenwood. But he has a secret that could ruin his family. Hoping to save his timid sister from that fate, he seeks to marry her off to a respectable, protective gentleman. With the London Season imminent, Geoffrey hires Elegant Occasions to orchestrate her debut. Yet Lady Diana Harper, spirited fashion expert, proves more than he bargained for. Suddenly, Geoffrey's sister is emerging from her shell, and he is beleaguered with social invitations and gossip! Worse, Diana is attempting to transform him into a presentable duke-when all he really wants is to make her his own . . .
Diana doesn't know what to make of the handsome, disheveled duke. The man bristles at the very idea that his fashion faux pas might spoil his sister's chances. Yet Geoffrey's stubbornness simply inspires Diana to ruffle his feathers-by setting him on a course of self-improvement. Although there's something endearing, even irresistible about his flaws, can a man who hates the ton tolerate a woman who makes her living catering to them? Little does either know that they have more in common than they suspect-and that two can create a society all their own . . .

Sabrina Jeffries is a reliable source for solid historical romance with outspoken, strong heroines. Her books are an autobuy for me. I'm interested to read Verity and Eliza's books.

This story had me hooked from the first page. The sisters all were intriguing and smart. The Duke's family was down to earth and very close to each other. It's nice when the Duke listens to Diana and eventually understands what she is trying to say to him.

A Duke for Diana was brilliant and charming. I adored this first book in Sabrina Jeffries’ new series. A great introduction to the characters, who are delightful in their own ways. Can’t wait for the next book - An Earl for Eliza!

I enjoyed Diana's, as well as her sisters Eliza's and Verity's, strong spirit and willingness to stand up for what they believed in, in spite of the consequences. They forged their way in a society that condemned them for their mother's behavior, while they were completely innocent. This was a time when women were of little value and were controlled by the men in their lives, so seeing them take charge was uplifting. They were hired to launch new duke Geoffrey's sister into that same society but didn't know the secrets he was hiding nor his concerns about how all of them would be affected should those secrets get out. Once they learned to trust and support each other, the burden became lighter and easier to bear. The dialogue and characters were outstanding as usual for Ms. Jeffries. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next in this series..

An amazing story of trust and love by Ms. Jeffries. A fast paced Recency romance between Lady Diana and the newly minted Duke Geoffrey Brookhouse. Diana has been working with her sisters creating a business that works exclusively with their peers behind the season after devastating scandal rocks their family. Their services are requested and desperately needed for Lady Rosabel's come out to society. Diana and Geoffrey have an instant attraction, but each has an impediment to finding love or so they thought. The characters have an amazing chemistry and find the strength of their love to move on together through life. An amazing story and fast placed!
