Bluebird
#1 New York Times bestselling author of The Light in Hidden Places, Sharon Cameron, presents an immersively dramatic, breathtaking novel of loyalty and betrayal, set in post-World War II New York City.
In 1946, Eva leaves behind the rubble of Berlin for the streets of New York City, stepping from the fiery aftermath of one war into another, far colder one, where power is more important than principles, and lies are more plentiful than the truth. Eva holds the key to a deadly secret: Project Bluebird -- a horrific experiment of the concentration camps, capable of tipping the balance of world power. Both the Americans and the Soviets want Bluebird, and it is something that neither should ever be allowed to possess.
But Eva hasn't come to America for secrets or power. She hasn't even come for a new life. She has come to America for one thing: Justice. And the Nazi that has escaped its net.
Critically acclaimed author of The Light in Hidden Places, Sharon Cameron, weaves a taut and affecting thriller ripe with intrigue and romance in this alternately chilling and poignant portrait of the personal betrayals, terrifying injustices, and deadly secrets that seethe beneath the surface in the aftermath of World War II.

I may be biased because I decided years ago I would love everything Sharon Cameron will ever write, but it's true, I love everything she writes and most likely will ever write. A beautiful story with painful bits. I love that not everything turns out that way you'd expect or want. Life has taught me that, and I respect the author that doesn't do that.

So many books recently have been from the perspective of the prisoners of the concentration camps. I thought this book would be like that. It wasn’t. I liked reading about the German survivors too that in many circumstances were victims too. The twists were unexpected.

I work in a middle school library and picked this up as soon as it came in. Such a great story based on actual historical events. I even checked out the CIA documents sited by the author about Bluebird. Fascinating and eye opening. There were some unexpected turns at the end which kept you engaged up until the end. Sharon Cameron did a great job with this historical novel. That’s why I bought myself a copy!

I found the story line a little slow. I will finish it but not pass it on

This is so different, so haunting and heartbreaking, you won't want to spend a day without it in your hands. She writes about survivor's guilt from the deep inside of a fractured heart, barely beating. It is at once lyrical and blunt. You will cry in surprising descriptions of fear and longing and love just out of a character's reach. Read this!
