Christmas Eve Cowboy

Headlined by the legendary storyteller Diana Palmer, this Christmas, the best kind of trouble comes in threes: Three bestselling authors. Three stories of holiday romance. And three rugged cowboys who are ready for love-whether they know it yet or not.

Snow is falling, and when it comes to love, so are these rugged, gorgeous cowboys, in a romantic holiday collection from three bestselling authors . . .

ONCE THERE WAS A LAWMAN * Diana Palmer
FBI agent Thomas Kincaid Jones has soured on love and Christmas, but Annalisa Davis could change all that. Except the lovely nurse isn't looking to get involved with someone whose job requires a gun on his hip. And Tom has a case to solve that has nothing to do with love. Yet the spirit of the holidays just might spark a lifetime connection . . .

CHRISTMAS CREEK COWBOY * Delores Fossen
In Christmas Creek, Texas, folks go all out for the holidays, but Sheriff Calen Jameson is too busy commiserating about cheating exes with his best friend, Emmy Kendrick. Calen always thought their bond was too precious to risk, yet maybe it's time to start making some changes . . . by firing up the heat with Emmy.

COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS * Kate Pearce
Lucy Smith thinks Santa has outdone himself when Caleb Erickson shows up at her B&B. In high school, Caleb was oblivious to her crush. But while they wait out a snowstorm, he's discovering she may be the gift he never knew he wanted . . .

ONCE THERE WAS A LAWMAN * Diana Palmer The storyline was interesting with an easily deduced murder mystery to be solved and a not-too-bright murderer to be apprehended by FBI agent Thomas Kincaid, who falls under the spell of sweet, caring nurse Analissa Davis who lives next door to the hotel he is staying at and whose driveway he inadvertently blocks her exit from when she has to leave for work. Their initial confrontation leads to him stopping by her door after his day's investigating the murder he was sent to solve to get information on the area and those that live there, and he finds himself enjoying her company way more than he should while she makes sure that he gets a home-cooked meal before she leaves for work on the night shift at the local hospital. This was a slow-build sugary sweet, sex only-after-marriage, classic Diana Palmer novella. CHRISTMAS CREEK COWBOY * Delores Fossen I really, really liked this story and the characters of Calen and Emmy. It was a trope that has been done before, but Ms. Fossen was able to make it feel fresh, new, and interesting. The story flowed smoothly and never had any lags that would have caused the reader to lose interest. An overall lovely story that I was disappointed to have come to an end! COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS * Kate Pearce This was a wonderfully written second-chance-with-the-one-that-always-seemed-unattainable-brother's-best-friend love story. Lucy has always had a thing for Caleb, but felt that he never really noticed her when they were growing up, and he would hang out with his best friend who also happened to be her older brother. Caleb is back in town though to help his father out on the family ranch and is stranded by a snowstorm before he can make the drive out of town to the ranch property. Luckily for him, Lucy now owns and manages the local B&B that she inherited from her grandmother and has plenty of rooms available due to the terrible weather. This was a beautiful story and I loved how it was gradually revealed to the reader how the attraction had always been mutual, but the circumstances in his life and that ever so pesky bro-code kept Caleb from acting on it until the opportunity so ideally presented itself now. Warm-fuzzies abound! Each of the novellas in this collection were written by well-known and very talented authors that leave the reader with a feeling of peace and contentment long after the last word has been finished. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, which was provided by the publisher through NetGalley.
