I am super disappointed with these books. I am a teacher and my school has a bunch of the original print Magic Tree House. However, since some of my groups are bigger than the amount of books they had purchased, I decided to buy a few extras to cover the deficit. The stories have been completely rewritten, so my students can't read along with others if they have two different versions of the book. I am beyond annoyed by it. The purchase ended up being completely worthless because I can't use them as intended.

If you haven't yet introduced your child or yourself to the Magic Tree House series, you should right now! These books are such a fun read for kids and adults to enjoy together. My 7 year-old enjoys hearing a chapter or two before bed each night from these stories. The series follows the adventures of a sister and brother who are able to travel through time and space with the magic from the tree house. They go on missions to help "Merlin" and meet many characters along the way. In each story, a new time and/or place is introduced. The reader is able to learn about new lands and experience a magical world in context that anyone can understand. It is not necessary to begin with the first book, although as the series goes on, many of the stories reference past volumes in them.

The way that this particular book series is written for young readers, I would highly recommend that you read in the series order. The series is fun, interesting, and educational. I bought additional books in this series because of this book. The book covers are also so wonderfully and appropriately illustrated, it only makes the reading experience that much more enjoyable!

My 5 year old dino loving boy loved this book. It was his first chapter type book and I was surprised how it kept his attn , he looked forward to the pages with photos. There is one part in the book where he phrased he wanted to kill his sister :( bcuz she wasn't listening, that got a pretty dramatic response of course for a 5 yr old but my spidy like responses quickly reworded it and all was forgotten lol

My son is in love with this book and is asking for more! I'm so excited to get him interested in his first chapter books and enjoy the quality time we spend together while reading. This is a great book for early readers and I find it useful in honing listening skills. My son just turned 5 and the writing and short chapters hold his attention. We could read the book in a sitting and he doesn't lose interest. Very excited to check out the others in the series.
