Don't Back Down

He barely has time to catch his breath...

Army veteran Cameron Pope arrives back in Jubilee, Kentucky, for the first time in years. He barely has time to catch his breath when he becomes embroiled in a race of life or death for his little niece and a deadly hunt for the human traffickers who are destroying the peace of his mountain town. When he's reunited with Rusty Caldwell―a woman from his past he's never stopped thinking about―he wants to believe they can finally be together. But Rusty belongs to one of the rich families in Jubilee―the same rich folks who scorn the rural families living on the surrounding mountainside. Cameron and Rusty will have to find a way to end the feuding and take down the human trafficking ring if they're to have any chance at happiness.

Sharon Sala once again delivered a can't-put-down-until-it's-done story! The characters were real people that I would love to hang out with, the location was somewhere I would like to visit, and the plot never dragged. An absolute winner of a book. I don't know where Ms. Sala gets her story ideas but I hope she never runs out!

I liked this one, my mother did not. she found it too dark at the beginning. I think the story was too big for the book. I haven't spotted the kitchen sink yet, but I'm sure it's there. a lot of secondary characters were introduce, kicked into hot water and dropped. dissatisfying. I won't say this is one of Ms. Sala's best, but not her worst either, running in the middle of the pack, in my view. good enough for me. I especially liked the dog.

I don't remember the first Sala book I read but I've been hooked ever since. Don't Look Back is one of her best. Rusty, the red haired undercover FBI agent is to recuperate from injuries sustained during a prior takedown, winds up investigating the disappearance of women and children who are being sold into sex slavery. She and Cameron, becomes involved when his niece is taken and they work for her recovery. Sala is an expert at pulling threads together, one by one, to draw unexpected conclusions.

Every book that Sharon Sala writes is a winner and you won’t be disappointed when you read the start of this new series.... Rusty Caldwell is an undercover FBI agent and being chased by Pirates shooting at her as she is in a boat running from the yacht she was working on. Injuries send her home to recover. Then she is needed for another uncover job and is being sent to Jubilee Kentucky where she happens to have family living there. Her first day there she re-meets the man she met briefly 5 years ago...the man of her dreams. Will he remember her? Read it and find out. You will love it as much as I did!

I just couldn't put this down for long. Every time I went away, I was itching to get back to it. It only took me about 24 hours to finish. I have to say that while I loved it, I got lost a little bit in the beginning. There were so many different characters I had a hard time keeping them straight. However, I finally got them straight and got lost in the story. I love Sharon's books, have laughed and cried with each of them, and have read them over and over. I thought this was one that would not make me cry, but not so. The ending was so sweet I couldn't hold back the tears. I highly recommend both this book and the author.
