First Comes Scandal: A Bridgerton Prequel (Bridgerton Prequel, 4)
There were Bridgertons before the eight alphabetically named siblings. In the fourth of the Bridgerton prequel series, following The Other Miss Bridgerton, we go back to where it all began. . . from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn
She was given two choices...
Georgiana Bridgerton isn't against the idea of marriage. She'd just thought she'd have some say in the matter. But with her reputation hanging by a thread after she's abducted for her dowry, Georgie is given two options: live out her life as a spinster or marry the rogue who has ruined her life.
Enter Option #3
As the fourth son of an earl, Nicholas Rokesby is prepared to chart his own course. He has a life in Edinburgh, where he's close to completing his medical studies, and he has no time-or interest-to find a wife. But when he discovers that Georgie Bridgerton-his literal girl-next-door-is facing ruin, he knows what he must do.
A Marriage of Convenience
It might not have been the most romantic of proposals, but Nicholas never thought she'd say no. Georgie doesn't want to be anyone's sacrifice, and besides, they could never think of each other as anything more than childhood friends... or could they?
But as they embark upon their unorthodox courtship they discover a new twist to the age-old rhyme. First comes scandal, then comes marriage. But after that comes love...

I am sad that I have finished the Bridgerton prequels. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know the Bridgerton ancestors! In this story, independent Georgie Bridgerton has been compromised because she was kidnapped. Can and should her childhood friend, Nicholas Rokesby “save” her by marrying her? In this story, I liked that Georgie fights against the societal beliefs and Carrie’s herself as a strong, capable, confident woman while still realizing there are things she cannot change immediately. She is curious and intelligent - matching wits with Nicholas. It was also refreshing to have a male character who wasn’t a total rake. I hate to say goodbye to these characters, but I’m sure glad I got to know them!

I love Julia Quinn books, and I have read all of the Bridgerton and Rokesby books. So I couldn't wait for this one. Nicholas Rokeby is a upstanding man, who is studying to be a Dr. He is not a rake or a rogue, doesn't chase women, drink too much or gamble like most 27 year old man of the day. He is a nice change from what most romances start with. The Bridgerton and the Rokesby have been neighbors forever. Now that some have married it's like a very large family. Georgiana's brother Edmund was like a brother to Nicholas as they are the same age. Georgie being only a year younger was always under foot. They have known each other there whole life. After Georgie is kidnapped and spends a whole day alone with one Freddie Oake's a gambler, drunk, who was kicked out of Eton for cheating. He needs money to pay his debts quickly and Georgies dowry is very large. Even though she escapes before she can be violated her reputation is ruined. The rules of the ton are very strict for young unmarried women. Even though Georgie did nothing wrong, she is ruined. Nothing is said to the man except he should marry her. Which is why he took her in the first place. When Nicholas find out that his father had him leave his exams, travel for 2 weeks thru 2 countries just so he could be told not ask to save Georgie he is hurt and so very upset. Poor Georgie, knows she did nothing wrong but no one is listening to her. She has cried a ocean of tears, gotten mad and threw things, talked to her three cats and hid in her room. Her life as she knew it is now over. As Nicholas and Georgie come to terms with what needs to be done, how it changes things for them, what they discover about each other. This is an out and out love story, one that has some drama but nothing truly bad. It is a wonderful story of two people who thought they knew everything about the other. They learn different. Some reviews have said it is a slow story, no it is just not an action story. But if you are looking for a great escape from whats going on right now, this is the story for you. No great drama, bad guys just love at its best. There will be secrets told by both. The story would not be the same with the Butler's of both family's and Georgie's three cats. They will make you laugh out loud. Do this book a chance it's one I know I will be re-reading again and again. I read and review a lot of ARC's for author's so I do not buy a lot of books, but I rushed to buy this one and so glad I did...

The book arrived quickly and it’s highly entertaining but when I opened it pages 1-4 fell out. Then a few were connected correctly until page 22 when they are loose again. I realize that this is a printing problem but the paperback was not all that cheap and I find the quality very disappointing. Regardless I’m reading on …

Another entertaining book by Miss Julia Quinn. She has a way of capturing you into the story, with all of her books, it just makes you just want to keep reading. I enjoyed this book immensely

I wanted the book to continue! It needed at least another 200 pages. I felt like it took a long time for them to get to where they were going and we barely get any time with them as a couple in their own home. BUT its a great story that i've read several times, even though each time I want it to continue for a more threshed out ending.
