This is a great book to read, especially if you like sweet romance books. Lance came home to help out in the family apple orchard, not knowing his ex-girlfriend was also working there. How will he react when he learns he is a father to a very sweet little girl? Betty E.

A delightful Iowa story. Love this area, having grown up 1/2 mile from the Iowa border. The sweet midwestern region comes through in the story details. As Lance returns home to help in the apple orchard, he finds his ex-girlfriend there, along with her cute daughter, Maelyn. This is a sweet story line of family and the love of family members. I love the "sweet surprise", as I have personally experienced such surprises in my own family lines. I love the forgiveness and imperfect families. It's just a really nice story that you will enjoy! I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

We are back in Iowa’s heartland for author Angie Dicken’s newest inspirational romance. His Sweet Surprise is a story of second chances and healed hearts. Divorced mom Piper Gray is back home, eight years after leaving for what she thought was her only solution to the problems (life in general) and blessing (her surprise pregnancy) had thrown her way. Needing to earn money, Piper gets a job working at the apple orchard owned by her best friend’s family. Lance Hudson is also newly back home. He’s divorced and needs a fresh start in life. He’s also Sydney’s twin brother, and spent plenty of time with Piper and Syd before he left for college years earlier. Sydney and Lance are happy to have Piper back in the Hudson family fold…but Piper is holding onto a secret that not just could, but WILL, change the course of their lives. Forgiveness, healing, family dysfunction, self-esteem, honesty, personal growth, and love are all branches on this tree of a story, one in which the Lord is the roots, bringing HIS love to yield the most amazing fruit. There’s even an epilogue! So grab an apple (or two) to snack on while you enjoy this wonderful story! I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

His Sweet Surprise is the latest book by Angie Dicken. Lance Hudson has come to help with his family's apple orchard in Iowa. Not only has he left the big city, but he's also leaving behind a heartbreak. He comes home to find that his sister has hired his ex-girlfriend Piper Gray. He hasn't seen Piper in about 8 years, but now she has a secret. A secret that involves Lance. He's her daughter's daddy. Can she tell him about Maelyn without major consequences? Only one way to find out. I really enjoyed this sweet story by Angie Dicken. I mean who doesn't love an apple orchard in Iowa? I like that her books are set in places not usually written about in Love Inspired. Don't get me wrong, I love Texas and Montana. LOL. I loved that whole "complication" of Maelyn. She is such a sweet little girl. We do get an epilogue and I was doing the happy dance. It ended in the sweetest way. I think SWEET is the word. From the title all the way down to the story & characters. As with all Love Inspired books this one has elements of faith which I love. I do wish it had a dear reader letter at the end. At least my copy did not have one. I always enjoy reading the author's thoughts on the story. Definitely a page turner, but not in the usual way. You'll just get so lost in the story that you won't even realize you're done until you're done. Isn't that the way we wish most books were? I was given a copy, but all opinions are my very own.
