600 pages in paperback with the payoff at the very end. Baldacci is very entertaining in front of a camera doing interviews, not so much as an author. The FBI & police characters contribute almost nothing to solving a string of murders of the same family. Maybe it is like real life most recently. King & Maxwell do their thing as usual doing most of the detective work. A lot of low probability events occur straining suspension of disbelief. Read Connelly & Child instead.

After being a bit disappointed with the first King & Maxwell book, Baldacci managed to deliver a great comeback with Hour Game. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this, with the right amount of detail without being overdone. Character development was great - felt like I knew all of them from the description and context provided. One knit - the author is clearly not a car guy. Lexus has never made a convertible with a manual transmission and Ford has never made a model called the Mercury…

The Hour Game started slowly but the second half of the book was excellent I am glad I stuck with it

Loved the relationship between Michelle and King professionally and the sexual tension that develops. So many surprises among the characters within the depth of there twisted relationships. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat!
