is a potentially problematic phrase, but not if you address it as “when you have a tantrum/when you really make me angry, my love doesn’t go away,” so it doesn’t become an excuse for grown-ups abusing kids. Definitely wonderful. My brother didn’t like that page. I think it’s fine and can even be a good introduction to “but not abuse. Here’s how to identify that,” or “but we left (situation) because that’s a different kind, and you can always tell me when (action) happens, so we can address (issue).” I had PPD due to spousal abuse and there were a few months of anxiety instead of just “Oh, recovery is here,” since I was also shunned for a year and a half after the birth of my second child by my mother. She wouldn’t take the kids ONCE, then became furious when my therapist said she needed to do it weekly. That led to an anxiety attack for months. Knowing one child is hated and lied to, and both should have been aborted, in her words. So, this book is a safe place for my kids to discuss/listen to necessary topics I didn’t know I could address until I read this book. Hang in there, to anyone who can relate.

My daughter loves this book. Bonus is that it helps her learn remember the colors she's learning.
