Montana: A Novel
A classic story of starting over and learning to love again
When Molly learns that her grandfather is sick, she packs up her two sons without a second thought and makes the long drive to Sweetgrass, Montana. But once she arrives, her warm memories of a sprawling ranch don't quite match the reality: Molly's grandfather is more ill than she thought, the place is shabby and there is a stranger running things.
Molly has learned to be suspicious, and she has questions about ranch hand Sam Dakota. Why is he working there? Why doesn't the sheriff trust him? But despite everything, Molly can't deny her attraction to Sam-until her ailing grandfather tries to push them into marriage. Moving to the state of Montana is one thing; entering the state of matrimony is another. Before she can move forward, Molly will have to figure out how to trust her own heart again.
"It's impossible not to cheer for Macomber's characters… When it comes to creating a special place and memorable, honorable characters, nobody does it better than Macomber." -BookPage

This was a very good story and was into a third of it when I realized I had read it before in paperback form. I skipped over some parts when I was half way through. It makes you really angry most of the time, to see how cruel and greedy some men can be. The sheriff had it made working by sides of good and bad before it caught up with him. Maybe now Sam and Molly and their kids can have a good life.

So much strength in this book!!! The romance showed through the book well, even to the lawyer and hooker!!! So much trouble one thing after another. Enjoyed this book!!!

I thought this book was so good. I Love the fact that the grandfather got his granddaughter and hired hand to get married. So many problems happened but the ending was a twist. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants a good book to read and likes a little western twist.

I am not ashamed to admit that I like light romances! I have done years and years of "scholarly" reading to improve my mind, etc. Now I read what I like, and what I like is books like this. Debbie Macomber has a talent for writing escapist books that bring the reader into the middle of the story. Her characters are likable people who most of us would be happy to meet. Montana has the heroine moving to Montana to assist her dying grandfather in running his ranch, complete with a bad boy ranch hand and a band of suspicious types who want to buy the ranch. But grandpa has other plans.........

What she didn't expect was to have her grandfather to set her up with Sam he told them t need to get married so she could save the broken arrow and Walt told Sam he would own 10 acres and cattle and she was angry that he would do such a thing but as it turns out she asked her boys what they thought and they were happy because Sam was more of a father than their real dad so when she told Walt he was so happy so they go married and she said it was only friends and Sam said I marry you will sleep with me and all that come with a marriage and she said than I want a church wedding with friends and family. They had a lot to learn but they managed to make it work
