NYPD Red 6 (Hardcover Library Edition)

In this heart-stopping thriller, a brazen kidnapper targets the most lavish New York City wedding of the season-and takes "Here Comes the Bride" as an invitation.

Reality star Erin Easton's "Wedding of the Century" may have a cable crew documenting every extravagant bridal detail, but when "Airhead Easton" disappears from the reception, it's no diva turn. Her dressing room is empty but for a blood-spattered wedding gown and signs of a struggle.

Detective Kylie MacDonald of NYPD Red, already on-scene as a plus-one, loops in her partner, Detective Zach Jordan to activate Level One mobilization for this PR nightmare. But when Erin's "proof of life" video makes it to air-rather than to evidence-every A-lister on the guest list becomes a target of suspicion . . . or just a target.

I love a good police mystery and was not disappointed. Believable characters and a possible plot. Many twists and surprises that kept me reading late into the night.

James Patterson does another superb job on NYPC 6. The characters never let you down with edge of your seat excitement. Hoping the next installment comes out soon - this is by far another great series to be enthralled with when reading...

Another RED winner to keep me hooked. Action doesn't let up throughout this book. Never disappointed to see another RED book being released.

Trigger warning: Briefly talks about rape on more than one occasion (but not with extreme descriptions). For the first half of the novel, I didn’t find myself as engrossed as with previous books in the series. I think part of that was because we already knew who the kidnapper was in the main part of the story (there is also a robbery gang that Zach and Kylie are searching for as a secondary element), and partly because it was kind of frustrating to me that Zach still seems to be carrying a torch for Kylie after all this time. I had planned to give this 4 stars based on the fact that I really enjoy these characters and the styling of the story, even if I figured there wouldn’t be any big bangs to the plot. But I was wrong. There was an element I did not see coming, and that’s what bumped it up to 5 stars. I don’t know if I was asleep at the wheel or what, but color me surprised. This is why I love this series. I tend to let my guard down and just enjoy the story as it happens, rather than searching so hard for clues and twists (which is my usual M.O.). The conclusion was very satisfying. I hope that they continue to make more in the series, because I will definitely continue reading them. As a side note, I really liked that we got a couple chapters from Kylie’s perspective, which is a first.

First off, I wanted to give this a 3.5, but had to round up. This is an interesting read, and I enjoy backseat driving searching for clues. Too bad they don’t pay any attention to what I’m saying..😀 nevertheless being on the read with Zach & Kylie is good. Jump in the car, I don’t think you’ll regret it.
