Praise (Salacious Players' Club, 1)

She's a good girl, but she's falling for the wrong man.

Broken down by her emotionally neglectful ex, all Charlie Underwood wants is someone to tell her she's good enough. Then she stumbles into a new job with a boss who brings her to her knees―literally.

As an owner of the Salacious Players' Club, Emerson Grant knows exactly what he wants and isn't shy about his particular tastes. But when he mistakes Charlie for a candidate to be his new submissive instead of his son's ex-girlfriend, he immediately tries to correct the situation. He offers Charlie a job as his secretary and nothing more…

Yet now that Charlie has seen a glimpse of what can happen when she's honest about what she wants, she makes it clear that all she wants is Emerson. He might be twice her age and her ex-boyfriend's dad, but he's also the only man who can give her everything she desires.

How far will she go to hear his approval?

This book was far better than I expected. It was brilliant with fantastic characters and a good storyline. Emerson Grant. Holy hell, where do I find one? He was a fantastic character. He’s so alpha male and yet incredibly caring. He ticks every box. Charlotte was a great character as well. They meet under unusual circumstances, Emerson mistaking her for someone else. They just click though, the spark there from the beginning. I loved watching her grow and becoming stronger during the book. The tension was almost painful to read. I understand their reservations because of Beau, but it just kept building and building. It was a relief when they finally gave in. I loved the dynamic between them and how it developed. Emerson became a little frustrating over not telling his son, but you could also understand it a little. Only a little. Honestly, Beau didn’t deserve an explanation. It wasn’t his place after how he treated her. You can’t help who you fall in love with, right? It’s safe to say that if you didn’t have a praise kink before this book, you probably will after. Good that man, I really don’t blame Charlotte for falling for him. The plot was good and developed well. The scenes were smoking hot when they eventually gave in to the tension, but there was more on top of the spice. Family was at the core of it with gaining understanding and acceptance from everyone. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it. The characters were brilliant, the scenes were hot and the storyline was good. Jessreviews.co.uk

I devoured this it just hit the right spot for me I adore age gap romances and this one had such a decadent kinky vibe that I really appreciated. It also had a bit of the forbidden being that she was his son's ex-girlfriend but mostly it was the dynamic between Charlotte and Emerson that I just adored. Be aware this one has quite a large age difference twenty-one to forty and also some Kink vibes as well nothing OTT but during the course of this Charlotte evolves and blossoms. After splitting with her boyfriend Charlie needs the deposit on their apartment back but it’s been sent to her ex’s dad who was the co-signer. Needing the money Charlotte approaches Emerson and he instantly mistakes her for someone else causing a whole lot of I wish the floor would swallow me up when he realises just who she actually is. Emerson is part owner of the Salacious players club initially working in the event industry he and his friends decided to branch out into a dating service that matches like-minded people with their kinks. The club is the pinnacle of their objective a safe place to explore mutual intimacies. Emerson is currently estranged from his son who doesn’t approve of his father's lifestyle thinking him a deviant and perverted. In an effort to attempt to reconnect with him Emerson decides to hire Charlotte as his secretary hoping it will bring his son back into his life. The usual girls he hires are less secretary and more sub but that isn’t what he expects from Charlotte but now he can’t seem to get her off of his mind finding himself craving her in a way he didn’t expect and the longer he spends in her company the more perfect for him she seems. This was relatively slow burn the sizzling tension and attraction ramped up so you could feel the crackling intensity and repressed desires. It’s quite apparent these two want nothing more than to indulge in all of their mutual urges together but Charlotte's ex is now the roadblock that stands in their way. Mostly because of Emerson and his desire for a relationship with his son. This was probably my only complaint here I felt Emerson places far too much importance on his son's feelings. The man was a grown-up and treated his dad abysmally he also wasn’t the best boyfriend constantly belittling Charlotte and he even cheated on her and then provided lame excuses I just didn’t think he deserved the consideration he got he wasn’t exactly a child and Charlotte had ended things before she even met Emerson. Though I did understand Emerson’s desire for his son back in his life so got why he thought the way he did. The intimate scenes between these two were red-hot and the chemistry and heat incredible. I adored the praise kink and found it to be the best I’ve experienced to date in a romance novel. I loved how Emerson tried to encourage Charlotte to see her own worth even though I de...

I kept seeing this around TikTok and as someone who has a praise kink themselves, I knew I had to read it. This book started off so strong! I was so ready to buy a copy of this for my shelf. The tension was delicious and I couldn’t wait for them to explode and give in to their wants of the other person. The forbidden aspect gave it just the right amount of angst. Once we got over the halfway mark and once they decided to give in, I felt like it started to go downhill. Things started to drag and the book felt so drawn out. We were hit with the most drawn out chapters of “I wish this could be more” or “I have to put my son first”. Honestly, like Beau didn’t deserve the reservations that they gave him. They shouldn’t have had two thoughts about him and I mean that with the most disrespect. Side note, one of these days I want to read a book where the heroine and the ex’s dad rub it in his face that they are together. All in all, it started off great but I didn’t end up loving like it I wanted to. If you are into praise kink or want a light intro to it, then give this a try.

📚Praise📚 By Sara Cate Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: This book has been on my TBR list for awhile and I’m so glad I got around to it!! Emerson is one of the esteemed owners of Salacious Players’ Club. A sex club where members can enjoy their desires in a safe and accepting environment. Emerson is sexy, smart and commanding. He likes to dominate and he likes his girls on their knees, but he also happens to be our FMC’s ex-boyfriends father. Charlotte (Charlie) is young and insecure (daddy issues), but she’s tenacious and curious on a mission to find herself. An awkward encounter puts her at the feet of her ex-boyfriends father and things escalate. I loved Charlie’s character because she starts out very lost and unsure of herself, but as the story progresses we see that she in becoming more self-aware, confident, and comfortable in her own skin. I like how the character of Eden tells Charlie that women should feel confident in their sexual desires. Women should be sexually empowered!! 😉 The love story between these two is sexy and sweet. They’ve got the forbidden love, age gap, taboo romance thing going on, which I enjoy. And there are lots of subplots with their families that kept the story a little more down to earth. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Charlie’s little sister Sophie! Loved the relationship between them and the underlining message of family, love, and acceptance. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series! Highly recommend 👍🏻

“You’re such a good girl, Charlotte.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐|5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️|5 heads up - this review may contain spoilers!! GENRE: romance TROPES|TAGS: age gap (40 & 21) // ex boyfriend's dad // forbidden // praise (obvz) // dom sub POV: dual SAFETY|TW: bdsm // transph*bia // mentions of cheating (not between MCs) // absent parent CLIFFHANGER: no HEA: yes! Emerson and his praise had me like this the whole time- *inserts gif of Miss Honey taking off her glasses* who doesn't want an older man, being dominant in all ways that count? if you don't, we could not relate less. Emerson was everything I needed him to be. He was an alpha when needed. Sweet when needed. Understanding and patient when needed. Charlie was his perfect, good girl. Their dynamic and the way their relationship blossomed was done so well. I AM SO HAPPY that I found Sara's books. I read this book in less than two days because I just couldn't put it down! (and then read through the other three in less that 2 weeks). go read this! that is all. some of my favorite parts- “I read smart books,” she replies with a laugh. “Oh, then I guess I’ll have to show Mom your e-reader. Let’s see how smart she thinks Mating the Werewolf is.” RULE #6: AVOID MALLS FOR THE RISK OF RUNNING INTO YOUR EX WHILE HOLDING BAGS OF LINGERIE YOU FANTASIZE WEARING FOR HIS DAD. I barely leave my room all day, researching and reading and trying to fully understand what it is that Emerson wants. No, what I want. “You were made for me, Charlotte. You’re mine, and I never want to let you go. Do you understand me? “I may not be the best father in the world, but I’d choose my kid’s happiness over mine every time. And I know for a fact that you could never love Charlie as much as I do. Not if you could stand being away from her for a single day.”
