My girls loved the map that charted their progress through the chapters.

We homeschool, but it's important to me that they learn the same things as their peers in case they ever need to enroll in public school, so we use these every summer to fill in any gaps and make sure they are on pace with other kids their age. Most of the time these end up just being a fun review, but there have been a few things that have been new to them. The themes are engaging and keep it fun, and I really love the outdoor adventures they are encouraged to complete. They all love using the stickers to mark their progress and design their own scenes. They rarely complain about doing school work, but they never complain about these books.

The book contains a lot of interesting topics, most of which were bit advanced for my almost-6th grader. Nevertheless, I consider it an opportunity for her to learn new things before starting the new school year.
