The 20th Victim (Women's Murder Club, 20)

Sergeant Lindsay Boxer tackles an ambitious case that spans San Francisco, L.A., and Chicago in this pulse-pounding thriller of "smart characters" and "shocking twists" (Lisa Gardner, #1 New York Times bestselling author).
Three victims, three bullets, three cities. The shooters' aim is as fearsomely precise as their target selection. When Lindsay realizes that the fallen men and women excel in a lucrative, criminal activity, she leads the charge in the manhunt for the killers. As the casualty list expands, fear and fascination with this suspicious shooting gallery galvanizes the country.
The victims were no angels, but are the shooters villains . . . or heroes?

I had a bit of a hiatus reading this series and came back to it because I missed Lindsay and Rich, my dynamic duo. Catching back up with them was like wrapping myself in a warm blanket. Soon we were all off on the chase. Bad guys getting taken out ! and Veterans going rogue ! no wonder they were being cheered on . As those who dealt in misery were taken out you had to find some level of sympathy with them. What a pity they found themselves on the wrong side of the law. Claire Lindsay's long term is having her own personal fight and Lindsay struggles to cope with the potential loss, but worry not as they do have miracles!! A nice welcome back to the murder club as I realise Cindy still annoys me and I'm still in love with Rich and Lindsay and Joe still make me go awe!!!!

I loved these books when the series started but they're getting a bit predictable now and rather shallow. The characters seem to have less depth these days and it all gives the impression of books on a production line for profit rather than writing from the heart. I struggled to finish this and don't think I'll bother with the next one. It's a shame as JP was my favourite author for years but there are far better writers out there now. If you're bored writing novels retire, don't keep disappointing readers with formulaic rubbish and charging top dollar.

Can the girls find their way through this latest case? Cindy Thomas might have a detective as a boyfriend but he isn't saying anything as yet about the shooting. She wants to be the first journalist to get a scoop on the shooting but things don't turn out the way that she wants. Yuki Castellano is trying to save a young man from a life sentence in prison but is too scared to say anything. And she knows that he is innocent of the shooting of the cop but there is nothing that she can do to save the young man unless he talks. She knows that she has no choice but to go forward with the case against him. Lindsay has just come back from being a trip with her husband Joe it was a good break but now it is back to the real world and she has just been thrown into a new case with another couple been murdered. But the chances of this been related to the last murder looks good. But can Lindsay and her team figure out what is going on before more people are killed? The cops have realized that the murders happening around the country are connected and that this could all be part of a game. But how do they stop it from continuing? Will they find the clues that they all need to close these cases? During all of this chaos they find out that their dear friend Claire has cancer and that she could possibly die, how will they all cope with this extra stressors? Will they pull together and get through this stronger? Another great read in the series. Love the characters as they all have an important role in the series. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house n exchange for my honest review.

Great storyline. Cindy is getting on my nerves-it's not up to Rich or Lindsay to get her a scoop/headline. Am looking forward to #21- does anyone know when it's coming out?

In The 20th Victim the ladies of the Murder Mystery Club face new challenges. When multiple victims are found murdered in different locations and states SFPD's Lindsay Boxer is on the case. When Lindsay clashes first with reporter Cindy Thomas and then with Assistant DA Yuki Castellano things become tense between the friends. On top of this Claire Washburn, medical examiner and member of the club, gets devastating news about her health. Who is doing the killings and what do the victims have in common? Will the ladies of the Murder Mystery group set aside their differences? You'll have to read the book to find out and let me warm you it's a page turner! Highly recommend!
