The Amish Nanny's Promise by Amy Grochowski She’ll do what it takes To keep his family together… When her dearest cousin passed, Fern Beiler made her a promise—to look after her two young children and keep her memory alive. The obvious solution is a marriage of convenience to their father, widower Nick Weaver. But when spending time together causes lines to blur, can two childhood friends overcome feelings of guilt for a chance at happiness…together? This is Fern Beiler, Nick Weaver and his two young children's story. Josh and Bethany. Too soon, Nick Weaver opened his eyes to the shadowy light of predawn. Once again, he’d lain awake for hours, only to succumb to sleep shortly before his day was to begin. He pushed aside the handmade quilt, swung his legs over the side of the bed and sat up. He raked his fingers through his beard and then his thick, dark hair. Somehow, he had to be awake and somewhat presentable before Fern Beiler came to the house. But she and Charity had been as close as sisters. Bang. The familiar slam of the back door set everything back to right. “I sure am glad to smell that kaffi.” Fern’s familiar voice drifted in from the mudroom. “Did you oversleep?” Hardly. Grabbing a pot holder, Nick removed the steaming carafe from the heat and poured their drinks. Then, just as Fern came through the mudroom into the kitchen, he added the healthy dollop of cream he knew she liked. She had to talk to him before the bishop and her gross-mammi got to him first. I recommend reading. The Amish Nanny's Promise by Amy Grochowski is a wonderful well written 5 star book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Amy Grochowski. I received a complimentary copy of the book and was under no obligation to post a review.

The Amish Nanny's Promise is a story about a marriage of convenience. Nick Weaver has two kids who need someone to take care of them while he tends to his amish grocery store. His late wife's cousin Fern Beiler has been taking care of the kids since her cousin passed away. They both made her a promise to keep her memory alive for the children. Of course, that's when Nick comes up with the idea for Fern and him to marry. He knows in order to keep his wife's memory alive he can't be with anyone else and that sounds like the perfect solution. Though he and Fern have been friends all their lives, can they remain that way for the sake of their promise? I truly loved the small mountain town of Promise, Virginia and I'm hoping we get to visit it again in the future. I was totally engrossed in this story. I didn't even look down at the page numbers to see how far I had read. You know what I mean? When you aren't feeling a book you sometimes keep looking to see how many more pages you need to read to finish it. Well, this one had me so engrossed in the story that I didn't even think of that. I was anxious to see what would happen next. I loved how they each tried to show their love to each other in different ways. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not. There was an epilogue and dear reader letter. Yay! I was in tears at the end even before the epilogue. Wishing this was a series and hoping that there is another to come. If you love amish stories or marriage of convenience stories then give this one a time. It's definitely 5 stars! I was given a copy by the author, but all opinions are my very own!

Fern plans to keep her promise to her deceased cousin, Charity, and care for Charity’s children, whom she loves, and to keep Charity’s memory alive for them, no matter what it takes. Because of a past accident Fern believes no man could ever care for her. Throw in a pushy grandmother and a conniving uncle, and you have the makings of a troubled tale with plenty of tension and heart-touching moments. The compelling story is one you won’t soon forget. It also highlights how open and honest communication would help avoid problems. This novel had elements that made it seem fresh and inviting, not just another Amish book with a similar storyline. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
