Three stars for this because, as sad as I am to say, this book disappointed for a number of reasons. One, unlike previous books where the author kept surprising me with not going to obvious route at the end, this book is actually very formulaic and easily guessed. Eve, etc. I hoped that she was going to surprise us but everyone could guess Eve’s storyline from the get go. Almost lazy in comparison? Two, the author did a dirty on Grayson’s character. If you had to trash one character to make choosing the other one an easier choice, then the other one shouldn’t have been the choice. Or neither of them. Honestly, I appreciate that Jennifer has never really excelled at the romance side, but Avery and Jameson had zero chemistry on paper in this book. Either way, don’t be lazy and trash a character because you just want to make it easier to write the end of love triangle. Three, we needed more Nash and Xander.

Every page of very book in this series is enjoyable , an incredible feat. There is layer upon layer of mystery, drama, romance, and humor. The characters are so likeable, you'll wish you could hang out with them and join in their inventive games and wicked banter. The conclusion was every bit as unpredictable and mind bending as the rest of it. While there are some darker parts of the story, the overarching tone is one of excitement, personal discovery and family. You come away feeling good, feeling inspired to do more with what you have. Highly recommend!

Definitely a fitting end to a very long puzzle. Once again, just when I thought I had it figured out, a new player/twist enters the Hawthorne House of Puzzles. Avery is one amazing character, always trying to stay a few steps ahead of everyone playing Tobias Hawthorne's game. She knows she is a pawn in his twisted game and she manages to outwit them all. The love triangle was there once again between Avery, Jameson & Grayson. Am I satisfied with the end result of that triangle...I'll let other readers decide for themselves. Once the dust settles and the "winner" takes it all, the reader will be content with the ending. This story definitely wraps up the trilogy. This is one for those who truly love a good puzzle!

What a fantastic conclusion. These books are so clever and crafty in the way that the clues, games and characters are written while being so intertwined. All of the Hawthorne brothers are such lovable guys with their own quirks and distinct personalities. As for Avery, she rose up to the challenge each and every time. She never ceased to amaze me with how much bolder she got with time and being in the Hawthorne House. Despite having never met Tobias Hawthorne personally, his personality still lived on with a strong presence because of his legacy. The stakes in this book are the highest yet so Avery’s double or nothing approach was both shocking and thrilling, but she is not to be underestimated. I thought a certain Hawthorne brother was her perfect match, yet she wound up with the other one, so while this didn’t fit my expectations, she still wins in the end as far as being on team happiness. For anyone who enjoys mysteries, puzzle solving and a very unique and unforgettable cast, look no further than this series.

“Tobias Hawthorne’s game hadn’t made me extraordinary. It had shown me that I already was.” I fell head over heels for The Inheritance Games last year and I haven’t stopped loving it ever since. Yes, it has a love triangle. Yes, I love the love triangle. But before I get into that, I want you to know: this was the most perfect finale ever. The way it tied all the loose ends from book 1 and 2, how it all fit like a perfect puzzle… Tobias Hawthorne would have been proud. The twists were delicious, the theories fun to guess and the characters’ arc absolutely on point. It was amazing to see how Avery was unshakable in who she is. Long gone was the unsure girl from book 1. Somewhere along all the riddles and secrets - the true Hawthorne legacy -, she found herself. The Avery we met in book 1 was special. And maybe a part of that Avery will forever live inside of her. But the Avery in books 2 and 3 was just a better version of her. I was Team Grayson in book 1. He fit that Avery and I didn’t trust Jameson even if he was the first to believe in her. I was 💯 Team Jameson on book 2. Not because the Grayson-Avery moments weren’t spectacular - they were perfect. But because Jameson wasn’t afraid of wanting her, scared of needing he. In book 3 that love triangle came to an end. And it was the obvious choice. The only choice. A choice nonetheless. Because love is also a choice we make everyday. This book is perfect for those who love: 🖤mysteries to solve 🖤well done love triangles 🖤short chapters 🖤strong FMC 🖤unforgettable birthday parties 🖤twists inside twists *Don’t trust anyone.* YA. 5 stars ⭐️
