The Hocus Pocus Spell Book

This book is really cute, I love how all the pages are full of stuff. The only downside is the size, I was hoping it'd be a bit larger.

You’d think for a movie with the spell book being part of the plot, they’d make this book look like the one from the movie. It was quite the mis step, making it look completely different. When you open it up, it says “Presented to Winifred Sanderson” or something like that with a date in it, which is cool. It’s also got a bunch of random spells in it, which is fine; You need something to fill up the space. They actually did that part very well. It’s very well written. But what I didn’t care for was the fact that they had the Sanderson family tree in it and pictures of the Sanderson sisters, which wouldn’t make sense, if this was supposedly a gift to her, from Satan, himself. Then, it’s got little anecdotes that are supposed to be handwritten, by the Sanderson Sisters; Winifred’s notes are in green, Mary’s in orange and Sarah’s in purple, although, it’s Winnie’s book, not their book. It only belongs to Winifred. Plus, Mary and Sarah are too stupid to use it. And then, the kicker was that there aren’t any spells or verbiage from the movie! The spells that they read from the book in the movie are not in this one!! They have three that start out similarly, but they turn out very different. If you just want a cute souvenir and don’t care about accuracy, then go ahead. But, if you’re a super fan like myself and want something that mimics the movie, this ain’t the book for you!

This is an enjoyable book to browse through if you like the Hocus Pocus movies. It's aimed at kids, but they would likely be pretty bored by it if they are under age say 11 or so. As an adult collector of witchy books, I'm delighted to add this high quality book (printed on nice paper too!) with amusing illustrations to my dark library.

It’s very cool and contains many spells and stories and even has spells and magical artifacts from other Disney movies such as The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Snow White, but it doesn’t have any of the basic spells from Hocus Pocus (the Life Potion, the Black Cat Spell etc).

I love this book so much ! For the price it went beyond my expectations it's so solid and a bit heavy like a good book should be and the illustrations are beautiful . If you love Hocus Pocus as much as I do , get this book !!! This one is going to my 7 year old grandson and I'm getting another one for myself .
