The Sandman Book One
From the award-winning writer of American Gods and Coraline, The Sandman is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed graphic novels of all time. Neil Gaimain's award-winning masterpiece set the standard for mature, lyrical fantasy in the modern comics era.
Illustrated by an exemplary selection of the medium's most gifted artists, the series is a rich blend of modern and ancient mythology in which contemporary fiction, historical drama, and legend are seamlessly interwoven.
An unforgettable tale of the forces that exist beyond life and death, this first of four volumes-drawn by Sam Kieth, Mike Dringenberg, Malcolm Jones III, and Kelley Jones, with spectacular guest art by Chris Bachalo, Colleen Doran, Charles Vess, and Michael Zulli-introduces readers to a dark and enchantin world of dreams and nightmares: the home of Morpheus, the King of Dreams, and his kin, the Endless.
Collects the story arcs "Preludes and Nocturnes," "The Doll's House," and "Dream Country," from The Sandman #1-20-including the first comic book to ever win a World Fantasy Award, issue #19s "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

This is a must read for all comic fans. 30+ years later and this is still such a gripping and riveting story. This collection is the first 20 issues, and you cannot beat that for the price.

Why oh why would DC publish such beautiful covers only to let Netflix slap a fake-sticker on the cover?! Why not make it an actual sticker that buyer's could pull off?! I'll wait until a future printing after Netflix is through with Sandman.

This was the first DC comic that I can actually say that I enjoyed. The stories were interesting and engaging and I never felt bored at any point reading them. I also got the audible which I listened to when I was reading...So good. I totally recommend..Best part Midsummer Nights Dream...

What can be said about Sandman that hasn't been said a million times? I love this series and this larger graphic novel version is gorgeous. I highly recommend. Story 10/10 Art 10/10

This is a review of this specific version outside the material itself. There are enough great things that people have said about The Sandman so I don't have to get into that. I'm glad they finally have a paperback version and I understand they have to advertise the new Netflix series, but why on earth would they print the stupid netflix logo on the cover instead of using a sticker. On top of that, the placement isn't even consistent across the four volumes. Book 2 placement is on the left for some reason. Ruins the entire cover having that dumb logo there. We don't even know if the series will be good considering Netflix's track record. If it's terrible, this version will always have a reminder of it. Best case scenario it's good, but then you still have a stupid logo printed on a book cover.
