The Veteran’s Holiday Home by Lee Tobin McClain is book ten in Harlequin’s Love inspired K~9 Companions series. Each book in the series is a standalone by a different author. Ms. McClain has previously contributed to this series with Her Easter Prayer. Ashley Green, principal at Bright Tomorrows Residential Academy, isn’t prepared when she realizes the identity of the latest applicant to teach at the residential boy’s school. Jason Smith is completely taken aback when he meets the principal at the school where he’s just applied for a teaching position. Ashley and Jason can let the past control their present and future, or they can find the strength to face their past and move on, perhaps together. Lee Tobin McClain continues to live up to the hype. These characters are exemplary. I immediately formed a connection to them both. They are extremely relatable. The plot and dialogue are completely inspirational. The story is emotionally relevant. Of course, the inclusion of dogs adds to the story on all levels. The Veteran’s Holiday Home is a 5 out of 5 star read that I highly recommend to all readers of chaste romance, especially Christian romance. My thanks to the author for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Sweet read about a military veteran and his former sister-in-law, a boys' school principal! I've enjoyed other books about Bright Tomorrow school and their staff. Secrets that have been kept over the years and people admitting their mistakes helps everyone put the past behind them and find forgiveness. I admired Ashley for her love and concern for the boys at Bright Tomorrow and Jason Smith for overcoming his disabilities with the help of his service dog. I recommend this Love Inspired book to others. I received a complimentary advance copy of The Veteran's Holiday Home from author, Lee Tobin McClain. This is my honest opinion.

This is a good book. It has all the right things to make for an enjoyable read...a handsome hulky hero, a strong independent woman, a big dog, and boys in need of love and understanding. Add some older veterans, snow and interesting interactions between characters, some stress and a big helping of forgiveness and you've got yourself a nice uplifting story to snuggle up with. I received an advanced copy for my honest review.

It was great to go back to The school and visit some of the characters in the first story and get to know more great characters. The story was great and I love the dogs.
