An instant New York Times bestseller, The Woman in Cabin 10 is a gripping psychological thriller set at sea from an essential mystery writer in the tradition of Agatha Christie.

In this tightly wound, enthralling story reminiscent of Agatha Christie's works, Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first, Lo's stay is nothing but pleasant: the cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, gray skies fall, and Lo witnesses what she can only describe as a dark and terrifying nightmare: a woman being thrown overboard. The problem? All passengers remain accounted for-and so, the ship sails on as if nothing has happened, despite Lo's desperate attempts to convey that something (or someone) has gone terribly, terribly wrong…

With surprising twists, spine-tingling turns, and a setting that proves as uncomfortably claustrophobic as it is eerily beautiful, Ruth Ware offers up another taut and intense read in The Woman in Cabin 10-one that will leave even the most sure-footed reader restlessly uneasy long after the last page is turned.

Mantiene el suspense, nos recuerda en su planteamiento y desarrollo a la chica del tren. Aborda un tema interesante sobre el derecho internacional aplicado en el mar y a los buques según su bandera de matrícula.

fter thouroughly enjoying In a Dark, Dark Wood and The Turn of the Key, I had high expectations for Cabin. And there is a very good story in here, but it is buried under a magnitude of characters, none of them likeable. The protagonist, Lo Blacklock, is a reporter for a travel magazine, and thus you would expect to encounter an intelligent, professional and articulate woman. Lo however seems to be stumbling everywhere, either drunk or seasick, incoherent, obnoxious and hysterical. She makes all the wrong and stupid decisions one could make and halfway I was hoping she would just fall of the railing, leaving the story to be told through another character. No such luck. It's a pity because with a more likeable persona and fixing a few holes in the story, this could have been a 5 star read, now 2,5 at most.

thriller senza grossi colpi di scena e in certe parti un po ironico/sarcastico. Preferisco i thriller senza tante distrazioni che vanno direttamente ai fatti. Agatha Christie insegna.

I wanted to love this book. It turns out I just liked it. I was hot and heavy into whatever was going on, but then it sort of fizzled. As a passenger on a high class maiden voyage, Lo Blacklock becomes obsessed with solving a murder she thinks she witnessed. A dead body being thrown overboard leaves her doing a lot more investigating than networking and relaxing as the trip was supposed to entail. This is where the book lost me. Blah blah, questions. Blah, blah investigation. What on Earth was happening? Was there even a murder? You start to doubt everyone and everything. I breezed through the last quarter of this book and was glad to be done with it. Don’t get me wrong. It was a cool book. And the twisted ending? Perfection!!!! I don’t think you would be able to figure this one out. So many good twists and turns! It just happens, that the twists and turns lost me in the mix.
