Twisted Love - Special Edition

I love this series it’s not only steamy but the plot just drags you in and you can not stop reading till the end. So excited for the finally book in the series.

Before starting this book, I knew this book was going to deal with dark themes, and it wasn’t going to be the type of romance book that I was normally use to reading. Essentially this book was me going out of my comfort zone. I’ve read books that have talked about dark, heavy topics so with that in mind, I was ok reading the dark parts the story illustrated. One thing I will say was that I felt a little uncomfortable reading when Alex would call Ava *certain names* during their *special, fun times* , since I guess I’ve always had this idea that when hearing those words, my mind usually places them as negative connotations, but I started to get use to it as I continued reading. Most romance books that I’ve read have varied from different types of expression of love, while reading this story, the way Alex and Ava expressed their attraction, their passion, and love to one another was genuine fueled with fierce passion. At times I wasn’t use to Alex calling Ava certain things while in *the bedroom*, I can respect that that was just in his nature and since it was consensual between Ava and Alex then that was alright. This book was unique in the sense that it’s like one I’ve never read before, the spice in this book had me legitimately blushing, and it felt wrong to read (in a good way haha)… but my curiosity got the best of me! Ahhhhhh *covers face with hands* Some parts weren’t my cup of tea, but I can understand Ana (author) writing this kind of romance books since a lot of the time, people assume that all romance books are sweet and light. I give kudos to Ana Huang for showing everyone that women are capable of writing detailed, unique, passionate romance without having it all be “cute”. Initially I was hesitant to start this book/ series because, I was unsure of whether or not I would like the characters, primarily if whether or not I would like Alex. I will say that Alex was the literal personification of overprotective, morally gray man and alpha male. Like I’ve read some books (including Wattpad stories) where the male lead would go to serious lengths for the female lead, while also still denying their attraction, but Alex Volkov took it to the next level. Throughout the story (beginning to middle-ish of book), Alex was determined to deny his attraction to Ava and stated that he didn’t “care” for her, and yet… THE MAN SPENT $40,000 on a painting at her work so she could get commission?! At times Alex not only gave Ava whiplash with his emotions and behaviors constantly switching but also with me as well. As much as I have a unhealthy obsession with male characters being somewhat overbearing and overprotective, I felt at times Alex took his job of “protecting” Ava too seriously or in other words, he crossed the line and went a little to crazy. After reading the first I immediately bought the second and preordered the third. I can’t wait for the fourth book!!!

Ugh. Got this book in the mail on Saturday and read it in less than 24 hours. such great read. could not put it down already ordered the second one to keep going in the twist love universe. very pleased with my purchase of this book
