Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America's Social Justice Scam

AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER! A young entrepreneur makes the case that politics has no place in business, and sets out a new vision for the future of American capitalism.
There's a new invisible force at work in our economic and cultural lives. It affects every advertisement we see and every product we buy, from our morning coffee to a new pair of shoes.  "Stakeholder capitalism" makes rosy promises of a better, more diverse, environmentally-friendly world, but in reality this ideology championed by America's business and political leaders robs us of our money, our voice, and our identity.

Vivek Ramaswamy is a traitor to his class. He's founded multibillion-dollar enterprises, led a biotech company as CEO, he became a hedge fund partner in his 20s, trained as a scientist at Harvard and a lawyer at Yale, and grew up the child of immigrants in a small town in Ohio. Now he takes us behind the scenes into corporate boardrooms and five-star conferences, into Ivy League classrooms and secretive nonprofits, to reveal the defining scam of our century.

The modern woke-industrial complex divides us as a people.  By mixing morality with consumerism, America's elites prey on our innermost insecurities about who we really are. They sell us cheap social causes and skin-deep identities to satisfy our hunger for a cause and our search for meaning, at a moment when we as Americans lack both.

This book not only rips back the curtain on the new corporatist agenda, it offers a better way forward. America's elites may want to sort us into demographic boxes, but we don't have to stay there. Woke, Inc. begins as a critique of stakeholder capitalism and ends with an exploration of what it means to be an American in 2021-a journey that begins with cynicism and ends with hope.

Author asks us to permit corporations to ignore social values that have gained more traction in recent years and their costs to society to allow corporations to pursue their executive function which is to make money for shareholders. Quote, " I don't even know what systemic racism is". Efforts to minimize social externalities that fall under identity politics should be treated as overreach by corporations and outside of purview to keep corporate influence and power in check. He also used this book to apologize to the people he upset when he tried to ignore the social and internal pressure at his company to acknowledge publicly current events as abhorrent. Also quite absurdly tried to explain-away the caste system as not harmful to lesser castes and that the second lowest caste members in Indian culture are quite wealthy often, so that makes everything "even-steven". This is especially true when considering most of the practices of Brahman being the only ones allowed to enter the front door are no longer practiced, among others like intermarriage of castes etc. You should trust him because he makes things for sick people. *Yawn*

This is the book for you. There are many relatively famous news items he combs over for his tirade against “woke” people, some totally legitimate. But, when he gets into ultra right wing politics…the election was stolen…I quit. Could not even finish reading.

Well written but who will listen? Our nation is going to fall as did Rome and other great societies of the past who, following their prosperity, literally fell to debauchery and embraced evil immorality on every level. This book clearly explains how we have arrived at the precipice.
Do you ever wonder what it would be like to have known Bernie Madoff was a fraud in 2004? What about to have known there was a housing bubble in 2006? What about reading about the dangers of a pandemic in 2019? Now you have the opportunity to learn about the biggest scam of the century (woke corporations) in real-time before its damages become evident to the general public. In this book, Vivek Ramaswamy spills all of the dirty secrets that corporations, celebrities, Democrats and many Republicans and most of all the CCP don't want you to know about. For all intents and purposes. Vivek is a whistleblower. He understands the way this game is played because he went to Harvard and Yale, worked in finance, and was CEO of a large company. Even though he is very wealthy and successful now and cannot be canceled, it still takes a lot of courage to stand up to powerful elites and criticize them publicly. Do not let your politics get in the way of Vivek's message. If you are liberal, it may be tempting to disregard him because he is on Fox News a lot and writes for the NY Post. But, he also is on MSNBC and I bet he would go on CNN if they invited him. It's an argument based on facts and logic and interpretation of the constitution and case law not a partisan message. I truly think in 10 years, people will look back and say to themselves 'I can't believe how prophetic Vivek was.'

Woke or wokeness focuses on anything and everything a person says or does and filtering it for the smallest possible instance that might be a micro aggression, (even if it isn’t), and personifying it for all to see and hear. This new construct has left the social realm and found its way into business and politics. Gone are the days of THE AMERICAN DREAM and E Pluribus Unum. They’ve been replaced with Woke corporations, fighting for sustainability or some specific politically voteable issue. These same corporations encourage focusing on the differences between people: race, gender, creed, etc., rather than celebrating unity and working for a common productivity. “Woke, Inc.,: Inside the Social Justice Scam” - the title really does say it all for this one and author, Vivek Ramaswamy, does a good job delivering the information. His writing is clear, concise and altho’ he definitely is conservative, there’s no bashing to be found, just reasoned text. Marriage between corporate America, politics and the social construct flavor of the day is ruining one of the pillars of our country. Read “Woke, Inc.” for your own look at what happened and how to fight back?
