The book itself is very cool, but it arrived damaged. It looks to have been previous water damage- no longer damp and the electronic portion isn’t damaged, but the book itself is very obviously warped, the cover is weirdly wrinkled and the pages are almost completely separated from the spine. The box it was shipped in is in fine condition which means it was damaged before it was packed. Im surprised that it went unnoticed because the book is now in an arc shape. I have so much going on now that it just isn’t worth it to me to take the time to return in, but I don’t know that I feel comfortable giving it to my son in case there’s unseen damage to the electric part or mold. Very disappointed as undamaged he would have loved it. Still giving 2 stars since the product itself is a good one, just a waste because we were sent a bad version.

Thank goodness the sounds aren't too loud, but you'll be hearing animal noises all day long with this book, but that's not necessarily a bad thing! My almost 2-year old daughter loves following the stories of each animal, and we play match the animal to the story. And she's gotten to the point of identifying each animal and mimicking each sound! Future zoologist, I'm guessing :)

This is NOT a board book for some unfathomable reason. I gave this to my 15-month old for Christmas and after only a few weeks of supervised use (him sitting on my lap while reading) the binding is coming apart. Very disappointing because my only other complaint with this item is a few animal/sound selections that I think could be improved on. The deer sound is disturbing...do deer really sound like that, poor things? The buttons work great and my LO loves pushing buttons! Sound quality is good. Would be buying the farm version of this item if it were a board book. Based on the timing of when my 4-year old was able to transition to paper from board books the content of this book is a total mis-match with the format...should be a board book. Maybe it’s available as a board book elsewhere, but not on Amazon?

My 19 month old loves this book. He was around 14 months old when we bought it. He has played with it consistently since getting it. He can press all the buttons himself but has yet to make the connection that each button corresponds to an animal within the pages - I'm sure that will come later on. He can recognize most of the animals in the book and he will point to them and say their name or noise they make as we flip through the pages. This is not a board book so he does have to be supervised with it - he did get a hold of it once and ripped out a fairly large section of pages. Luckily they are still full pages and we can probably glue them back to the binding but for now I just slipped the section back in.

My 16 month old has been REALLY into animal noises lately, so we got her this book thinking she might find it amusing. She won't put the thing down! Now I'm just hoping the batteries run out soon, or we might just "lose" this book for a while... Seriously, though, this is a great little book and my daughter loves the colors and sounds.
