A Dowry of Blood

S.T. Gibson's sensational novel is the darkly seductive tale of Dracula's first bride, Constanta.

This is my last love letter to you, though some would call it a confession. . .

Saved from the brink of death by a mysterious stranger, Constanta is transformed from a medieval peasant into a bride fit for an undying king. But when Dracula draws a cunning aristocrat and a starving artist into his web of passion and deceit, Constanta realizes that her beloved is capable of terrible things.

Finding comfort in the arms of her rival consorts, she begins to unravel their husband's dark secrets. With the lives of everyone she loves on the line, Constanta will have to choose between her own freedom and her love for her husband. But bonds forged by blood can only be broken by death.

"A dizzying nightmare of a romance that will leave you aching, angry and ultimately hopeful." --Hannah Whitten, New York Times bestselling author of For the Wolf

The horror-pulsing and beautiful-comes as much from Constanta's insights into her husband's psychology as it does from bloodlust. A dark triumph."―Mary McMyne, author of The Book of Gothel

Dowry had me from the very first page! Wow, I just finished it and I’m still a little speechless. I picked up this book due to all the positive hype around it and it exceeded all of my expectations! I absolutely LOVE this book! S.T Gibson’s writing is just out of this world phenomenal! Oh sweet Constanta, HIS was not the only heart you broke. I’m torn that it’s over and ready for the sequel, I mean.. please tell me there’s a sequel, this just cannot end like this! I need more!

I am so in love with this book. I don’t even know what to say. This book was everything I wanted and more and I’m sad for it to be over.

One of the most beautifully written books I’ve read in a long time. The prose, the imagery, the expression of emotion - absolutely divine.

While overall I loved the book and will be reading more by the author, I felt like the author was making it too pretty all the time. Like the book is very quotable but in a way that felt contrived.

Beautiful writing. Very poetic. Just didn’t like all the references to God. Also, you don’t even know the main male character is Dracula. He’s never given a name. So that’s weird.
