This story is a clean, Christian, action packed suspense with the possibility of romance. Abigail Fox is a widow with a sweet boy who finds herself escaping Chicago to the Badlands of South Dakota after the death of her husband. A man that seemed to have gotten involved with the mob. Micah Ellis, a law enforcement ranger in the Badlands Park, comes to her rescue when he sees her struggling with two men. From that point on, he becomes her protector. In the midst of the danger, and the abduction of a child, feelings develop. But both of these individuals have been hurt by someone they loved. While one has found his faith, the other one feels abandoned. In the end, will they survive the mob? Will Abigail find her faith returning? Will both of them open their hearts and have a future together or will they go their separate ways? The plot was engaging and the main characters likable . I was entrusted a copy of this book. Full of action from beginning to end, this book will keep you engaged. Abigail's husband died under suspicious circumstances, leaving her alone with their 4 year old son. Afraid, she flees from Chicago to the Badlands of South Dakota, where her son is abducted. She is told to exchange some missing files in return for her son. Micah, a park ranger, sees the abduction and promises to help find the child and protect her while she tries to locate the files. As they face challenges trying to find the files and stay ahead of those after them, will they find more than they anticipate? Will faith in God see them through? Abigail is still dealing with the suspicious death of her husband. She flees to the Badlands of South Dakota for safety. She soon learns she's not safe at all. The mob kidnaps her son. They believe she has important information from her husband. She has no idea what they want or why. She doesn't know what her husband was involved in. Micah Ellis is a park ranger. He ends up witnessing the abduction of little Owen. Micah feels called to help Abigail in any way he can. They team up to rescue Owen and figure out what the mob wants. This book is full of action and suspense from start to finish. Micah and Abigail soon learn not everyone can be trusted. There is a good mix of romance and suspense. There is also a good focus of faith in Jesus and trust. I found myself turning the pages to see how the story would end. A very enjoyable book.
