My 7 year-old son LOVES these books! He was a hesitant reader, so it makes me so happy to see him enjoy reading! We’ve had the book for 2 hours and he’s already read it twice. He says it’s his favorite one!

This book added a lot of new stuff, they added 'Meet the Cast' section where it describes every character, such as their strongness and weakness. I have to say it was a little (actually, not a little, A LOT) shorter, but WAY more emotional. Sadness, badness, goodness, and LOVE! It talks about Petey's past (when Sarah interviews him), about her mom and him when he was young. After Petey's dad left them, they started with nothing, life was hard. But his mom never lost hope, she forgave him, always believed in him, and she always said, "Love lasts forever and ever" When Sarah interviews him to talk about his past, he says he realized that Lil' Petey was the same as his mom, Lil' Petey never lost hope, he forgave Petey, he believed in him. I hope you didn't cry while reading this, pretty emotional, huh? ANYWAYS, back to non-emotional stuff, the enemies in this book were the two sippers. And it was made by Big Jim and Grampa (somehow it isnt Grandpa). And I didn't realize Chief was CRUSHING on Nurse Lady~~ Ooh LaLa~~ In the beginning of the story dogman gets hurt when the toilet seat falls onto his hands while he was drinking from the toilet. So, he has to wear a cane (the thing dogs wear to stop them from licking or biting a certain place on its body), dogman is worried that he'll get bullied because the cane looked funny. So, Lil' Petey makes him a 'special' cane and tells him to press the button whenever it's dangerous (such as bullies). When he arrives at the police station the cops immediately begans to bully dogman, he clicks the button on his cane and he transforms into a ROBOT!! That scares the mean bullies away. In the end of the story after Petey's house is destroyed he founds his mom's ukulele (i dunno how to spell it) under broken bricks. The story ends as Petey makes music with his mom's ukulele… Sorry, I promised there wasn't any more emotional stuff from now on but there is too many in this book *Sniff* I can't help it.... *Sniff* *Sobs* I could continue but I feel the longer I write, the unorganized it becomes… I am VERY sorry that it is unorganized but every time I write a paragraph I have another thing to write. So yeah. I better end it here

Excellent book! My 5 year old son loves dogman books so much! He got the book this afternoon, finished it in less than 50 minutes and cannot stop talking about it. He likes to read aloud, acting like the characters. Thank you, Dav Pilkey!

My 7 year old son LOVED this book. He laughed so much while reading it, and kept bringing me sections to read. It was indeed funny! It does contain quite a bit of potty humor (farting, diarrhea) so I probably wouldn't recommend it for any younger of a child (who may not understand that this sort of humor is not appropriate in certain situations....such as, at school!). I'm not even sure I should have let my son read it since he sometimes forgets his filter. But, oh well - it was super funny and he loved it. We are looking forward to the next Dog Man!
