Samantha McAllister looks just like the rest of the popular girls in her junior class. But hidden beneath the straightened hair and expertly applied makeup is a secret that her friends would never understand: Sam has Purely-Obsessional OCD and is consumed by a stream of dark thoughts and worries that she can't turn off.
Second-guessing every move, thought, and word makes daily life a struggle, and it doesn't help that her lifelong friends will turn toxic at the first sign of a wrong outfit, wrong lunch, or wrong crush. Yet Sam knows she'd be truly crazy to leave the protection of the most popular girls in school. So when Sam meets Caroline, she has to keep her new friend with a refreshing sense of humor and no style a secret, right up there with Sam's weekly visits to her psychiatrist.
Caroline introduces Sam to Poet's Corner, a hidden room and a tight-knit group of misfits who have been ignored by the school at large. Sam is drawn to them immediately, especially a guitar-playing guy with a talent for verse, and starts to discover a whole new side of herself. Slowly, she begins to feel more "normal" than she ever has as part of the popular crowd . . . until she finds a new reason to question her sanity and all she holds dear.

Only one chapter in and already I find it totally relatable with all the intrusive thoughts. It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only one who has them and it doesn't make you a bad person

I abolutely loved this book, once I started I couldn't put it down (I read it in five hours!) the only thing that annoyed me is that it's taller than all my other books so doesn't look right sitting only shelf...kinda funny because I have OCD and it freaks me out lol. I definitely recommend!

An interesting book. The huge twist at the end left me shocked, to be honest. I thought that in places this wasn’t written as well as it could have been, and in a few places it felt a little slow, or a little fast, but overall it was a good book and something different from my usual reads

I've lived with OCD my entire adult life and even after just reading the first chapter, I couldn't believe I finally found a book where the main character is like me! This book is very in depth when talking about topics like Intrusive Thoughts, Skin Scratching and Picking and other 'nastier / scarier' sides of OCD. I think I read the whole book in only a couple of hours, I seriously didn't want to stop reading. Now my Mum wants to read it so she can get a better understanding of things like Intrusive Thoughts so that she can understand me a little bit better. Very, very happy. One of the best books I've read in a LONG time!

Every Last Word spoke to me in a way that no one can understand. I'm truly surprised that this book has left a big impact on me after reading it because I didn't expect that it would leave such an impression. Normally, I'd comment on the author's writing style, the characters' developments, etc., but I simply have no words for this one. All I know is that Every Last Word did something to me that I can't explain, but in a good way. My emotions are all over the place right now because I took this book on a personal level. I didn't relate with the characters, but something about the story and its message hit me somewhere I'm most vulnerable. I'll certainly recommend this book, but I won't guarantee that it will have the same impact to other readers. I just hope that you'd like it as much as I did.
