Good Bad Girl: A Novel

THE INSTANT USA TODAY BESTSELLER!!
Sometimes bad things happen to good people, so good people have to do bad things.

Queen of Twists, bestselling author of Daisy Darker and Rock Paper Scissors Alice Feeney, returns with another thrilling mystery filled with drama and her trademark surprises.

Twenty years after a baby is stolen from a stroller, a woman is murdered in a care home. The two crimes are somehow linked, and a good bad girl may be the key to discovering the truth.

Edith may have been tricked into a nursing home, but at eighty-years-young, she's planning her escape. Patience works there, cleaning messes and bonding with Edith, a kindred spirit. But Patience is lying to Edith about almost everything.

Edith's own daughter, Clio, won't speak to her. And someone new is about to knock on Clio's door…and their intentions aren't good.

With every reason to distrust each other, the women must solve a mystery with three suspects, two murders, and one victim. If they do, they might just find out what happened to the baby who disappeared, the mother who lost her, and the connections that bind them.

In the style of Daisy Darker and Rock Paper Scissors, Good Bad Girl is a thriller in which nobody can be trusted and the twists come fast and furious.

Editorial Reviews

"Alice Feeney will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end with Good Bad Girl. So. Good."
―Glamour Magazine UK

"Feeney's latest solidifies her reputation as a premier purveyor of psychological suspense. . . As the women's relationships deepen, Feeney gradually reveals their connection to the initial abduction, keeping readers constantly off-balance with shifting perspectives and brilliantly withheld information. . . This crafty thriller will touch readers' hearts as much as it bends their minds."

"A psychological thriller brimming with complex mother-daughter dynamics."
―PopSugar

"A classic unreliable narrator novel. . . Just as with Alice Feeney's other twisty books, you will think that you have it all figured out, but you probably don't. . . Some stories are better than others. This is one of them."

I think this is Alice Feeney’s best book yet. I had to read it with a pen - there were so many amazing lines. Recommending to everyone and can’t wait for the next one!!!

At first the stories were rather disjointed and it was hard to see any connection. But as the book went on, they circled tantalizingly closer and closer until they became one at the quite surprising and unexpected conclusion. I’ve loved all Alice Feeney’s books, but this one was the finest yet. I couldn’t put it down.

Let me tell you this book is all the hype and more! I just love how the author gives you different POVs with random droplets of information but not enough to know WTF is really going on until the end as slowly things unravel and come to light. This book is so dang entertaining with the premise that good people sometimes do bad things. She did not disappoint with her trademark twists and turns building the suspense with a wide cast of female characters that you like, kind of like, and hate but in the end come to love all of them. The mystery of two murders, a child kidnapping and everyone is suspect – what’s not to love? As always I highly recommend this to all thrill read seekers!

Good Bad Girl Feeney always brings the mind blowing twists and plots that keep me turning the pages and wondering what will she come up with next. 👶 A mother who is having a hard time after the birth of her baby might be suffering from depression and has second thoughts. Her baby is stolen out of her stroller. 👶 Twenty years later a lady is murdered in a care home. There is a connection. Edith is in the care home and she is 80 and bonds with Patience who works at the facility. As with most psychological thrillers nothing is as it seems. It has multiple POV and revolves around Mother’s Day! Thank you Macmillian Audio, Netgalley and author Alice Feeney for this advanced copy. This outstanding thriller is due out August 29th. She is always an auto-buy author for me. The narrators did an excellent job with this novel. #netgalley, #macmillianaudio, #alicefeeney, #psychologicalthriller, #familydrama, #audioreview, #bookreview, #bookstagram, #booksconnectus, #stamperlady50

MY THOUGHTS: In a way that draws many characters together, Good Bad Girl led us through a convoluted tale with numerous secrets, lies, and intersecting lives and kept this reader intrigued throughout. The characters alternately narrate the tale, and we don’t know how they are all connected until the story ends. A most fascinating page turner that earned five stars from me.
