I Know Where She Is

On the 10th anniversary of her daughter Autumn's abduction, Francine receives an anonymous note containing just five words: I KNOW WHERE SHE IS.

When a young woman appears claiming to have sent a letter that says she knows the location of Francine's missing daughter, Autumn, Francine wants to dismiss it as a cruel, twisted joke. But the stranger knows things that only Autumn would know. It soon becomes clear that Francine must go to dark places in order to learn the truth about her child's kidnapping. She will discover that danger comes from unexpected sources. She will do things she never imagined herself capable of. But will Francine get her daughter back-or is it too late?

A heart-stopping, gripping thriller for fans of C. L. Taylor, Karin Slaughter, and Linwood Barclay.

A bit of a letdown. Not a strong story as it relies too much on contrived setup. Distracting prose eg thinking about happy times whilst in pain and danger - completely unbelievable. Read it to the end hoping that it would improve but it didn't.

Any book which has the power to make me forget about my lunch on a lunch break deserves more than 5 stars, but 5 is the top mark here so it'll have to do. If you're a lover of a good thriller with all the explicits that one expects from a novel in the thriller section then you are in for a treat. I'm not too far in (nearly half) but boy am I gripped. Sometimes giving things a chance pays off, I'm so pleased that I took one with this. I was going to go in depth but seeing all the other reviewers review I felt it was best no to. A good clean and plain BUY ME NOW is all that is needed with this one.

This book was just okay. The main character suffers from the issue du jour: the unreliable narrator. Drinks and questions her sanity, can't discern between reality and her substance abuse. Like, I grew up with lots of mentally ill and addicted people. It's portrayed in this book in a most amateur, unreasearched way it makes it hard to read. But my biggest issue that I could not get over: for the reasons described in the book, the main character cannot go to the police. Ummmmmm... Has this author not heard of the FBI??? Like seriously, not one editor said, "Hey, this whole story could be solved by contacting A DIFFERENT AGENCY!" Duh. If the author is that lazy, I don't think they deserve our money. Skip it!
