Preacher's Inferno (Preacher/First Mountain Man)

Legendary national bestselling Western authors William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone return with the blazing new installment in their long-running series featuring Preacher, the First Mountain Man, a pioneering hero who embodies the Johnstone brand – and the American Frontier.

A village is destroyed. A vengeance is born. And one man blazes a trail to hell and back to pay the devils their due-in bullets and blood. They call him Preacher…

It starts as a happy reunion between Preacher and his fellow trappers in a peaceful Indian village. But it ends swiftly in death and destruction when a rival tribe attacks the village, slaughters some of Preacher's Crow and mountain man friends, and carries off the women and children as prisoners. Preacher was off hunting when it happened. Now he's teaming up with old friend Lorenzo and half-breed Tall Dog, to get the prisoners back-and get revenge. But the road to justice is paved with some very dark omens. And the trail leads to the baddest place on God's good earth: the bubbling quicksand pits, hot springs, and geysers of the Wyoming wild country known as Colter's Hell . . .
Here-where earthquakes shake the land and no man is safe-Preacher and his friends must wage a three-man war against one of the fiercest tribes this side of the devil's inferno. And once the shooting starts, it's going to get a hell of a lot hotter…
Oh, and there's also a question of 100 missing rifles . . .

I loved the action the plot the characters and how fast read it is. Preacher hasn't fail us yet for a great adventure.
Preacher's Inferno by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone is the latest book about Preacher the mountain man and it's out in stores in December '21. It is a great western in my mind and I love the new character of Tall Dog. This book has all the ingredients necessary for the genre. Good guys, bad guys and Indians you both can trust and the other kind. We also get to go to a rendezvous. It was a really quick read and I had some fun reading it. I always find it fun reading about Preachers firepower and I wasn't let down in this adventure. I must thank @kensingtonbooks @netgalley #Pinnacle for giving me this advance copy and @williamw.j.a.johnstone for writing it. #NetGalley #Kensington #PreachersInferno #WilliamWJohnstone #JAJohnstone #Western #Preacher
Preacher is out hunting in the mountains when, as usual, he becomes the hunted. A party of Indians is after him with, as he soon discovers, the latest model of rifles yet up in the mountains. Upon learning of a missing shipment of these rifles taken from an ambushed army convoy, the stakes grow even higher. The balance of power lies with the ones with the most firepower. With the rifles in the Indians' hands, no white trapper or settler will be safe. It turns out that most of the shipment is still missing, with both the army and the Indians hot on the trail. But not everything is so simple, as Preacher learns. Some dishonest soldiers are at the root of the matter, and it's up to Preacher to get to the bottom of it, and to remain alive in the process. This book was a thrill from start to finish, replete with lots of action and full of twists and turns. It was a good continuation to the series.
