Spicy, scorching romance is *in*, dear readers. And Helen’s written a spectacularly steamy tale featuring enemies to lovers! Slaying the Shadow Prince delves into the darkest realm, full of terror & sorrow. And with a tiny flickering flame of hope come to life amongst the shadows, it’s no wonder that readers are going to fall under the spell of this NA fantasy romance... I love this book and wish I could give it more than 5 stars. It deserves so many more!

It was okay, the last 20% I was skimming and kind of just over it. I feel this was like enemies to friends to lovers, like the enemies stage didn’t last as long as I would have liked. It felt a little unfinished to me, but there is apparently more to this story in a separate series. Not sure I’ll get around to reading it though.

This might be my favorite entry in the Mortal Enemies to Monster Lovers series. This was my first Helen Scheuerer book and I cannot wait to read more of her stuff. Drue and Talemir were compelling characters right from the start, and it took me about five pages to be totally hooked on this book. Drue was one of my favorite fantasy heroines I've read in a long time. It was so refreshing to have a fierce heroine who loved ballgown and dancing just as much as she loved fighting and protecting her people. The mix of a somewhat post-apocalyptic medieval society combined with magic was fantastic. I loved the world, the plot, and the characters. I cannot wait to read Wilder's story. I really loved everything about it. Highly recommend it for fans of A Court of Silver Flames, Carissa Broadbent, Elise Kova, and Danielle Jensen's the Bridge Kingdom.
