Stamped (For Kids): Racism, Antiracism, and You

THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

This chapter book edition of the groundbreaking #1 bestseller by luminaries Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds is an essential introduction to the history of racism and antiracism in America

RACE. Uh-oh. The R-word.
But actually talking about race is one of the most important things to learn how to do.

Adapted from the award-winning, bestselling Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You, this book takes readers on a journey from present to past and back again. Kids will discover where racist ideas came from, identify how they impact America today, and meet those who have fought racism with antiracism. Along the way, they'll learn how to identify and stamp out racist thoughts in their own lives.

Ibram X. Kendi's research, Jason Reynolds's and Sonja Cherry-Paul's writing, and Rachelle Baker's art come together in this vital read, enhanced with a glossary, timeline, and more.

I have the adult and the teen version of this book and now have just received the kid version. I LOVE the content in each of these editions- and is soooo important to learn this history. I'm excited that my 8 year old can now have a version of this excellent information to read himself. THANK YOU!!!!

This is an amazing book, perfect to engage and teach children about the harsh reality that sometimes we have a hard time talking about--and don't even know how--but that is essential to inform young people about! Jason Reynolds is a great writer, has a playful voice, and knows how to reach young audiences.... and obviously is extremely knowledgeable and articulated! This is a perfect book for all ages (but there is an adult version!)

Powerful book. It needs to be part of the elementary education of ALL students. Knowledge is the first step to dealing with racism. Those who fear books like this prefer fantasy history vs truth

This book is an incredible resource, and if you are grappling with how to talk with your kids about race or are eager to learn more for yourself, I highly recommend it. As a white woman, I sometimes struggle with how to talk to my children about race and the history of racism in the United States. It’s “for kids,” but it really helped me as a parent and educator! A MUST-READ!!
