Star Wars Padawan
BEING A TEENAGER IS HARD ENOUGH WITHOUT ALSO TRAINING TO BE A JEDI….
Obi-Wan Kenobi has not been apprenticed long to Qui-Gon Jinn, and he is chafing at Qui-Gon's training style: all meditation, no action. Obi-Wan yearns to prove himself on a mission, but when he and Qui-Gon are finally set to leave on an assignment, Qui-Gon is nowhere to be found. Angered by his master's abandonment, Obi-Wan sets out on the mission alone, determined to prove himself. On a mysterious planet he encounters a pack of feral, Force-wielding teens who seem to be the planet's only inhabitants. As he experiences wild freedom with them and wonders if this isn't the life he was meant for, Obi-Wan can't escape the nagging sense that something is wrong with the Force there. Growing attachments, startling revelations, and a looming threat to both the planet and his new friends will bring Obi-Wan face-to-face with his worst fear: that maybe he was never supposed to be a Jedi at all. Can he connect with the living Force in time to save himself and everyone around him?
It's the star of the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ limited series as you've never seen him before….

So fun, fast paced and descriptive! The characterization (especially obi wans) is so on point! Not to mention, getting to see myself represented in obi wan or any other queer/asexual character in this book! (This being confirmed and talked about in no way changes his relationship with saltine btw)

This story is a great story we learn so much about obi wan and see a different side of him and it is beautiful if you are a obi wan fan i am amazed how Kristen made me like obi wan more people complain about him questioning his sexuality but it’s so beautifully written clearly that’s the only reason the homophobic fans don’t like it they don’t care about the rest of the story

Kiersten White managed bridge events of the distant past with what we all know happens in the future. This is a lovely story that slots perfectly into Obi-Wan’s larger story in a way that feels very natural. It feels a bit like the Jedi Apprentice series but doesn’t try to imitate it. Many of the themes are related to feelings I definitely experienced at that age. It’s absolutely worth a read regardless of your age:) (The criticisms I’ve seen about Obi-Wan’s sexuality in Padawan have been blow waaay out of proportion. It’s more like a boy of his age trying to figure out what he wants rather than direct confirmation of any romantic or sexual attraction he might feel. It’s subtle and fits into the narrative well.)

Such a great exploration of Obi-Wan’s character! Loved getting more development of his relationship with Qui-Gon as well as his anxieties and self-doubts. Very true to character and a fun read.

I enjoyed the story told and loved getting to know Obi wan and other star wars characters better. It does help i related to obi wan on several aspects. Has made it to one of my favorite star wars novels. I also adored how it explored how Obi wan saw the force. Felt rich and deepened our understanding of him and the universe.
