The Night and Its Moon (The Night and Its Moon, 1)
An addictive fantasy romance from TikTok sensation Piper CJ, now newly revised and edited. Two orphans grow into powerful young women as they face countless threats to find their way back to each other.
Farleigh is just an orphanage. At least, that's what the church would have the people believe, but beautiful orphans Nox and fae-touched Amaris know better. They are commodities for sale, available for purchase by the highest bidder. So when the madame of a notorious brothel in a far-off city offers a king's ransom to purchase Amaris, Nox ends up taking her place ― while Amaris is drawn away to the mountains, home of mysterious assassins.
Even as they take up new lives and identities, Nox and Amaris never forget one thing: they will stop at nothing to reunite. But the threat of war looms overhead, and the two are inevitably swept into a conflict between human and fae, magic and mundane. With strange new alliances, untested powers, and a bond that neither time nor distance could possibly break, the fate of the realms lies in the hands of two orphans ― and the love they hold for each other.

It’s imagery is vibrant, it is earnest and beautiful and the best thing I have read in so long. This is the kind of storytelling that seeps in, the kind of book that stays with you forever.

I havent read it yet since I just got it and it looks good nothing bent or ripped. It's a hefty book so give me a week or so I'll run through it. Love the map and pronunciation key so at least in my head the words will be good 👍

The Night & Its Moon was such a delight to read, it's the first series since the All Souls (Harkness) trilogy that has really gotten me HOOKED. As an English lit grad and librarian, I was going through a bit of a reading dry spell, but with TN&IM I was reading every possible opportunity possible itching to get to the end to find out what happens. I wanted to transcend space and time and be zapped into the world that Piper created. Additionally, Piper's creation of the characters Nox and Amaris is so well done, as were the the more secondary characters. I found myself looking for Nox and Amaris fan drawings and castings because I really just wanted to know MORE about them and envision them better. I'm really excited to learn more about these characters that Piper has created in the upcoming books because they are so intriguing and captivating. Finally just to clarify my review a bit more - I read the first edition, so yeah there were some typos here and there, but nothing that seriously impacted the overall reading of the book. I'm excited to read upcoming polished edition. ALSO - I love to see the bi-representation as a bi person, myself! I cannot wait for book two! I may have to take some time off of work and school just to dedicate my time to binge reading!

This book is absolutely wonderful. Piper has done a phenomenal job creating relatable characters - the people in this world undergo experiences that so many people can truly relate to. Parental/familial traumas, being gaslighted and manipulated, dissociating to avoid circumstances, boxing away one's "unpleasant" emotions. The added depth to each character is remarkable, making the reader completely unable to tear away from the plot to see what happens next. I can't wait for the rest of the series to be released!!

I first read The authors release few months ago. I have since read the revised version. I really enjoy the story over all - It's nice to see a fantasy with a full cast of characters that doesn't place traumatic events as the primary action or character driving situations. I loved the diversity of the characters. The major problems I had with the first version were repaired by the editing provided by Bloom for the second version. Overall would definitely read this again given that I already have, and I'm really looking forward to the remaining books in the series.
