Wow! What a great book! A true page-turning romantic suspense! Dana Mentink has a way of drawing readers into the story on the first page and keeping then in the thick of the action until the very end. Good guys, bad guys, police dogs, Alaska, and reindeer. What more could a reader ask for? Kate Kapowski is an assistant to the Alaska State K-9 Unit but returns home to her aunt’s reindeer ranch when an uncle she never knew threatens her aunt and the animals. Immediately, she, too becomes a target. Trooper Brayden Ford, not Katie’s favorite person, and his K-9 partner, Ella, are assigned to protect her. As the danger escalates, Brayden and Katie must resolve their differences and work together before they fall prey to a killer. Yukon Justice is a very fast-paced story with likable, plausible characters who struggle with very real emotions, The scenery is described in such a way that the reader can easily imagine being right there. I “saw” the reindeer and the police dogs. I “felt” Katie’s fear and her determination to face that fear and move beyond it. I “experienced” Brayden’s frustration as he struggled to save people he cared about. Yukon Justice is the seventh book in the Alaska K-9 series but can easily be read as a stand-alone. I’ve enjoyed all of the previous books, but this book has been my favorite. If you want a story that you can’t put down and that combines action, suspense, faith, romance, and a touch of humor, this book is it! I give it a five-star rating. Easily!

I’m sure you can’t see me dancing but I am. Every time the author has a new book out I get excited. She has this writing style that is witty, captivating and filled with wonderful adventure. Her characters are well defined and I like how she puts faith in each of her stories. The excitement of reindeers in this story made me intrigued. I couldn’t wait to see who was stealing them and what other mystery was going to develop as I kept reading. Katie has her hands full when someone is out to destroy her aunts farm. Could it really be her uncle who is trying to destroy the farm? When a shot rings out, the adventure starts as Katie and her K-9 try to rescue her aunt. The adrenaline rush is clear as the perpetrator gets away. When all evidence points to it being her uncle Terrance I think she was a little shocked. Why is he so angry at her that he would want to kill her? Brayden is not thrilled to get the assignment of watching over Katie. With their past history I can understand why. However he is a professional and will do his job. Oh I know there is going to be friction between him and Katie and the author does a great job of pairing these two up. I loved the banter between them and enjoyed how they slowly started to trust each other. It is easy to see that Brayden has feelings for Katie but it will not be an easy task to win her over. There is a vulnerable side to Brayden when it comes to Katie. He needs to keep his head in the game or he may get Katie hurt. The poor guy is trying so hard to keep her from danger but she is a very stubborn woman. The action never stops as Terrance continues his terror against Katie and whoever gets in his way. He has clever ways to try to hurt her, but with the K-9 dogs, Brayden and the team they get closer to capturing Terrance. The author really took me by surprise with the twist in the story. It is now a matter of who can be trusted as deceit enters the picture. My heart started beating faster as the events played out right before my eyes. The ending is nothing short of action packed edge of your seat danger as Terrance tries to harm Katie. The author does such a good job of bringing the book to an end in a way that you would expect from someone who is gifted with writing a thrilling and suspenseful story. I can’t wait for the next installment in this incredible series. I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Wow this story had so many ups and downs. It sure didn't look like they were going to be able to catch Uncle Terrance. I'm so happy things have turned around. I have enjoyed reading every book in this series. I'm looking forward to the next one. If you hadn't started this series you really need to get reading. If you read them in order they will make alot more sense.
