Wonderful art and story. It is unlike other manga in the shounen genre. Very Kafkaeque and KINO.

So first of all, Chainsaw Man is an excellent manga which I would strongly recommend if you are considering reading it. Of course it is very gory and vulgar overall, so if that's not your thing then probably avoid this one. The manga itself gets five stars from me. Also consider checking out the author's other series, Fire Punch. My issue lies with this presentation of Chainsaw Man in kindle format. The images just don't look very good. Take a look at the attached images. On the left, the kindle version. On the right, the version published on the Viz website. As you may or may not be able to see, the kindle version is higher resolution, which gives it a sharper appearance, compared to the Viz version, which is a bit smudgy by comparison. Nice. The problem is that in the kindle version, the blacks are not black, they are dark gray. This can be clearly seen by comparing it to the Viz version, in which the blacks are black. This is the reason for my 3-star rating. I'm sure for most people this is not a big problem, but for me it is. Manga is black and white. Part of the beauty of the art form is in the stark contrast between lines, forms and empty space. I really don't want to live in a world where manga is all gray and washed out looking. This should be easy enough to correct so there's really no excuse for changing the overall appearance of the manga from what the artist intended. That being said, I always encourage manga readers to support the artist, so please do buy this volume in whatever format you prefer!

Ok so the story is extremely derivative but who cares? It’s tons of fun so far!

Since reading the first chapter im the Shonnen Jump app, i immediately knew i was going to grab the first volume of Chainsaw Man. This Manga has everything from blood and gore, to comedy and character development. The story twists and turns mixed with danger peeking at every corner making it a thrill to read! The art is top tier and breathtaking in important moments leaving you eager to find out what happens next. Don’t take my word for it, see for yourself!
